Jeff Gannon’s recent book, “The Great Media War: A Battlefield Report” will be among those featured at the 2007 National Press Club Book Fair on Nov. 1.

“Gannon, the first exclusively online reporter to cover the White House on a regular basis is considered a new media pioneer,” according to a release announcing the development. ”He notes that his daily readership of more than half a million topped the circulation of most newspapers, despite reporting for a small news outlet.”

He’s expected to be available to sign copies on the day of the event.

During the Matt Lauer interview, Sen. Larry Craig said that Mike Rogers, the popular gay blogger, has engaged in “gladiator” politics, trying to take him down at any cost. Mrs. Craig added that Rogers’ alleged descriptions of the senator’s private parts are off-base. “He’s trying to make something of nothing,” Mrs. Craig adamantly said of Rogers’ longtime investigation into her husband’s sex life.

“I don’t listen to other people’s rumors,” Suzanne Thompson, Sen. Larry Craig’s wife, told Matt Lauer tonight. “The day I found her, I fell deeply in love,” added Craig.

Talking Radio says Randi Rhodes is the victim of a violent attack:

According to Air America Radio late night host Jon Elliott, Rhodes was beaten up pretty badly, losing several teeth and will probably be off the air for at least the rest of the week.

But then there’s this from Air America’s Web site:

Air America host Randi Rhodes experienced an unfortunate incident hindering her from hosting her show. The reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded. Ms. Rhodes looks forward to being back on the air on Thursday.

So confused.

NRA-loving comic book fans will soon have a new hero to fight against gun control laws. Come 2008, the popular fictional hero Captain America will be packing heat. 

“When Captain America returns to the pages of his comic book in January, it won’t be his star-spangled new duds getting all the attention. Instead it will be what he’s wielding in his right hand, the one once reserved for pummeling the jaws of evil,” reports the Washington Post. ”Come next year, he’ll be gripping cold, hard steel.”

And he’ll be quite unique among his spandex-clad pals. Very few mainstream comic book heroes wield guns, and Batman has even sworn off ever using them.

“We definitely wanted a Captain America that still screamed, ‘This is Captain America,’ but this isn’t the same Cap you’ve been reading about,” Ed Brubaker, the comic book’s writer, told the paper. He added that he’s always tried to emphasize Captain America’s military background.

There’s something about the Rockettes kicking their legs for the legless troops at Walter Reed that just seems awkward. No?
