Shame, shame, shame on Washington’s own Wolf Blitzer. The CNN anchor has failed to appear on Ellen DeGeneres’ program to date (despite repeated overtures from her), but, thankfully, the daytime funny lady isn’t holding his snub against our fair city.

Ellen said on today’s program that yesterday’s show–which featured Ballou High School marching-band director Darrell Watson and his students performing “I Love the Way You Move”–was one of her all-time favorites.

And after Ellen’s promotion of a new documentary focused on Watson’s nationally ranked band from an exceptionally crime-ridden neighborhood in DC, the White House has decided to hold a screening in front of George and Laura Bush.

Wolf, get on a damn plane. She’s worth it.

We’ll have to check in on the Senate Immigration Debate, but we’re pretty sure this also makes Dubya a legal alien of Texas citizenship of the United States. Or Martha’s Vineyard. Or Kennebunkport. Or something.

Jane Fonda is doing the talk-show circuit, telling bewildered hosts, including David Letterman, that she’s taken to wearing shirts made out of milk and pants made out of hemp (and, we speculate, drinks made out of alcohol).

Yes, Johnny Carson’s heir definitely loves the favorite Democratic Presidential underdog, but do you?

“Hillary is the one to beat,” according to one BHDC interviewee.

“I like Hillary Clinton,” said another.

Obama, for his part, said everyone’s all on the same team. Sure, Barry, we believe you — and we liked your suit, too.

Back in the day, three news kids frolicked in the same Washington circles. Their names were Connie Chung, Maury Povich and Donna Benner. Chung went on to become a national anchor, while Povich became a trash TV talk show host and Brenner ultimately became his trusted producer.

But the Philadelphia Inquirer reported yesterday that Benner has up and left Povich after 10 years by his side — amid a strange behind-the-scenes sex scandal plaguing his program (see details from our coverage last year). In short, Bianca Nardi, another former Maury producer, has sued the show, alleging that she was forced to work in a sexually charged atmosphere, which stemmed from “an intimate and sexual relationship” between Povich and Benner.

Benner told the paper that she resigned on good terms, but sources have told Big Head DC that Chung has long been wary of the Benner/Povich relationship. And now, even though Benner is technically out of the picture, some people surrounding the power couple are talking divorce.

Ledo’s Restaurant, located in the heart of College Park, has been chosen by the queen of talk as one of the best pizza joints in America. Who are we to quibble? That lady knows her food. And we’ve had plenty a tasty pie from Tommy Marcos’ place, which he founded in 1955.

“It couldn’t be any better” Marcos, Sr. said regarding his Oprah Winfrey experience, which saw her gal pal Gayle King visit to conduct an in-person interview.

“I have always liked pizza, but there is no pizza in the world, in the world, that I am still talking about and remembering and thinking about 30 years later,” said Gayle, an alum of the University of Maryland.

The show featuring the pizzeria will air locally at 4 p.m., and Ledo’s plans to host viewing parties on Saturday at the original restaurant in Adelphi.
