Remember back when we used to go on and on about former DC author Marty Beckerman, and his Generation SLUT book?

And remember when we told you about the Washington Times Robert Stacy McCain blowing a gasket in his newsroom last week?

Well! Little did you know that we would one day connect the antics of Beckerman with the semantics of McCain. Turns out that McCain is a big, big Beckerman fan, and even gave Generation SLUT a glowing review on Amazon:

Beckerman is completely insane — and that’s a good thing. What he has done is to throw back the curtain to show us the horrible moral decay that has afflicted the children of the Woodstock Generation. The graphic language and sexual content may shock adults, but this is how young people talk and what young people do. Just when you think to yourself, “That’s too far-fetched to ever happen,” you turn on the TV or pick up a paper and see that it already HAS happened: Teenagers posting self-porn on the ‘Net, the Duke gang-rape case, etc. Despite its pornographic content, Generation S.L.U.T. is fundamentally a socially conservative book, and Beckerman’s a Robert Bork for the MTV era. Marty shows us the emotional and physical wreckage wrought by the serial betrayals of the “hook-up” age among kids with too much privilege and not enough supervision.

Yes! McCain knows young people like we know the back of his hand. Wait?

“[T]his latest dust-up reported by the FishBowlDC and Big Head DC Web sites shines new light on huge continuing problems for The Washington Times if Fran Coombs is presumed ascendant editor-in-chief of to succeed Wesley Pruden, Jr. at the newspaper,” George Archibald, a former reporter at the Times for more than 21 years writes today.

He calls Robert Stacy McCain, who offered his resignation to the Times yesterday after a newsroom fit of gigantic proportions, “an ill-tempered racist who sat on the other side of my desk for many years and carried on loud telephone conversations almost every day full of racist and ultra-right comments, and often got into loud verbal fights with both reporters and editors in the newsroom.”

“Stacy McCain…who has run the Page A2 Culture page for The Washington Times for many years under national editor Kenneth Hanner and Managing Editor Francis B. Coombs, Jr., is a friend of neo-Nazis such as William A. White of Roanoke, Virginia, and had the favor of Coombs and his wife Marian Kester Coombs, who in her own right has a long-reported history of white-supremacist writings,” according to Archibald. “Fran Coombs and Stacy McCain for many years have ridden roughshod over newsroom colleagues of all ethnic and other backgrounds at The Washington Times with their explosive and vitrioloic racist white-supremacist tirades on a frequent basis.”

McCain has yet to respond to these allegations.

Big Head DC is hearing from newsroom sources at this late hour that Washington Times’ Assistant National Editor Robert Stacy McCain called National Editor Ken Hanner today, declaring his firm intention to resign, after a huge upper management brawl occurred yesterday. Even Managing Editor Frances Coombs has been unable to coax McCain back thus far.”Stacy is integral to our team,” an astonished insider tells us. “It’s a state of confusion right now.”
