Fans of conservative radio who tune into Baltimore talk station WBAL (AM 1090), probably dig such moralistic talk hosts as Ron Smith and former Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich.

What they probably don’t expect is wanton nudity, but that’s just what’s offered up — secondhand anyway — on the Shari Elliker show which can be heard RIGHT NOW (weekdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.). Elliker, a former actor, often features regular guest Susan Allenback (also spelled Allenbach), as the “Hometown Tourist.” Allenback is also a former actor and both acted in Homicide: Life on the Street.

The difference is that while Elliker pushed for a career in radio, Allenback worked with John Waters, where she acted in his movie A Dirty Shame sans clothes. How d’ya think that grabs WBAL’s listeners, who often call in protesting things like skimpy fashions on teens. This will, um, lay bare their concerns!

Talking Radio says Randi Rhodes is the victim of a violent attack:

According to Air America Radio late night host Jon Elliott, Rhodes was beaten up pretty badly, losing several teeth and will probably be off the air for at least the rest of the week.

But then there’s this from Air America’s Web site:

Air America host Randi Rhodes experienced an unfortunate incident hindering her from hosting her show. The reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded. Ms. Rhodes looks forward to being back on the air on Thursday.

So confused.

Big Head DC has learned that the “This American Life” radio show’s staff hasn’t had phone, e-mail or Web access for the past three days. And the team, led by Ira Glass, is peeved.

“This means if you’ve sent us an email, YOUR EMAIL IS NOT GOING TO REACH US,” reports producer Julie Snyder via e-mail. “And you won’t get a bounce back message or anything.”

TAL has been completely shut down since Monday morning, but has been having this problem intermittently for the last two or three months.

“Even if the tech people can get our phones and Internet/e-mail service back online, we don’t really trust our email service anymore and until we’re guaranteed that this won’t happen anymore, everyone on our staff is switching to our personal e-mail addresses,” Snyder says.

Breaking! GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham is apparently only 90 percent conservative, having “gained a reputation for sometimes speaking out against or criticizing the party line, as well as being open to making compromises.”

Thus, Rush Limbaugh’s fans, thanks to his encouragement, have decided to make the pretty-eyed Senator pay, Wikipedia-style:

Get it? “Grahamnesty” means Graham is too nice. Too compromising. And, possibly, too light in his loafers (on immigration reform, of course)?

Mark Levin, another radio guy you might have heard of, has taken the name calling one step further with this classy moniker: “Goober Lindsey Graham.”

Hmmm. With friends like these…
