Last week CNN ran an article on alleged “DC Madam” Deborah Jeane Palfrey, managing to spell her name wrong and quoting the Politico’s Anne Schroeder as “one of the first Washington journalists to seize on the scandal potential of Palfrey’s case.”
Well!
Many political insiders, including Palfrey herself, were like, “WHAT???” This is the girl whose weakly-branded “not sayin’, I’m just sayin’” coverage indicated early on that the “DC Madam” case was not about sex. (Yeah, double-check with Sen. Vitter on that one.)
“Anne Schroeder is a gossip columnist, pure and simple,” Palfrey told Big Head DC. “My attorney, Mr. Sibley and I spent almost an hour with Ms. Schroeder and a colleague on May 24th – similar to what I did with you – trying to detail/explain my situation. The fruit of Mr. Sibley’s and my efforts, if I am not mistaken was a one/two line gossip blurb, in her column the next day.”
