Already facing declining circulation numbers, Newsweek finds itself potentially losing thousands of more customers after it announced today that Karl Rove, the former White House deputy chief of staff, will become a contributor. He’s expected to offer occasional opinion pieces to the pages of the magazine and to Newsweek.com.

“Newsweek is choosing to pay money to a man who has committed numerous crimes against the state, and war crimes,” one Raw Story commenter wrote. “I’m choosing not to read Newsweek.”

“I have no choice but to boycott,” another angry reader added. “I may write, e-mail, and phone some of their sponsors.”

Big Head DC can confirm that several protesters contacted the publication after learning the news of Rove’s new role.
