permalinkJust who do you want to put in charge of our miserable economy? A guy like Barack Obama, who’s spent a whopping $833,000 on hotel stays while campaigning for president thus far, or Hillary Clinton, who’s saved over $330,000 over Obama on her hotel bills during that same course of time?
Even really rich Republicans like Mitt Romney and John McCain spent far less on hotel stays than Obama, according to records gathered by the Holiday Inn Express hotels. Read more…

permalinkFOX News has aired a video showing Mitt Romney dining at KFC for a photo opportunity on a recent campaign stop. “First he took the skin off the chicken, and then ate it with knife and fork!” according to a disbelieving viewer. “The anchor pointed out that the whole point of going to KFC is to pick the chicken up and eat it skin and all.”

permalinkThe Michigan Republican Party mistakenly sent out a news release Tuesday night congratulating John McCain for winning the state’s GOP primary.
It quickly issued a second statement praising Mitt Romney for his win.
“Heading into tonight, this race was too close to call, so we prepared a release for either scenario,” state GOP spokesman Bill Nowling said. “We simply pushed the wrong button.”
The Associated Press named Romney the GOP winner when polls closed in Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula at 9 p.m. EST.
The first GOP release went out just minutes later and stated, “In a close-fought victory, Senator John McCain succeeded again (in) the Michigan Republican primary, winning over a traditionally unpredictable voter base in Michigan.”
Five minutes after that, the party sent a release that said, “In a close-fought victory, native son Governor Mitt Romney won an important contest here tonight.”
Mitt Romney may be over-relying on his dad’s coattails to do well in Michigan, political insiders in the state tell Big Head DC.
“Sure, George Romney was seen as a great governor for the state in the 1960s,” one source familiar with the current Romney campaign told us. “But that was a generation ago. Most people in their thirties and even forties don’t remember George, let alone ones in their twenties.”
Many believe that John McCain holds far greater name recognition for younger voters, and his 2000 win in the state is still fondly remembered. Indeed, the McCain victory might have cost then-Gov. John Engler a VP seat on the George W. Bush ticket, since Engler promised he’d help bring home a win for Bush among Michiganders.
The current race in the Great Lakes state is seen as an important one for Romney to win, if he wants to continue on in the GOP primary process. To date, he’s fared much worse than pundits had expected.
