“There are still voices, even within our own community, that focus on what might go wrong,” Michelle Obama said in a speech yesterday. “It’s not just about fear, people. It’s also about love. I know people want to protect us and themselves from disappointment and failure, from the possibility of being let down again — not by us, but by the world as it is. A world that we fear might not be ready for a decent man like Barack.”

Obama and Hillary Clinton are the only presidential candidates who currently have Secret Service protection.

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski is making headlines today for landing an interview with Michelle Obama, but few people are talking about the family connections she relied on to score her scoop. Her father Zbigniew Brzezinski, who served in the Jimmy Carter administration, is one of Barack Obama’s national security advisers. “My daughter wrote her a note, and she wrote her back,” Mika noted on Morning Joe today.

Page 6 is reporting that Barack Obama “barely breaks a sweat when he works out.” That’s not a good thing, kids! Wellness experts note that sweat actually helps regulate body temperature, and one should be producing plenty of it to be in ideal fat burning mode. Now, yes, we recall Michelle Obama recently saying her husband is “smelly,” but that’s no reason for him to stop sweating altogether!

The van of Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, was totaled today in central Iowa, after it dramatically collided with a motorcycle. “The motorcyclist, 40-year-old Iowa Falls hydraulic mechanic Tim Emerson, landed on grass softened by three inches of weekend rain and lay still with a cut on his head,” according to WaPo. “He was not wearing a helmet.” Obama was not injured, but her Chevrolet Uplander received major damage.
