Lesbian rumors have been swirling for weeks around Huma Abedin, one of Hillary Clinton’s closest campaign confidants. First, Village Voice columnist Michael Musto said he had some evidence of a gal-on-gal affair to remember; then a Department of Justice source contacted Big Head DC, adding some zip to the sauce.

And now the picture at right has turned of Abedin trailing Clinton and gay talk show host Ellen DeGeneres during a recent “girl’s only” trip to NYC. Not the best way to quash the rumors, girl, but you still look hot!

We’re still a bit incredulous on this one, but a top level U.S. Department of Justice official is telling Big Head DC that Michael Musto’s rumor about Hillary Clinton fooling around with one of her top female aides Huma Abedin is based in reality!

“I am close enough to Hillary and Huma to tell you that this ‘rumor’ is true,” the official says. “It is well known inside her campaign that Hillary and Huma are an item.

“If you call Hillary’s residence in DC first thing in the morning, Huma answers the phone,” the official continues. “Same thing late at night and on the road. It’s a closely guarded secret that Hillary’s inner circle guards at all costs.”

Make of that what you will, kids. But know this: The official is someone who has proven highly credible in the past.

9:13: The Bloomberg News political columnist’s first world of the evening: “lesbian.” And then she said it again for good measure. Doogie Howser is in the L.A.-based crowd. Hey, wait, he’s not a lesbian.

Barack Obama was the first to confirm his appearance at the LOGO/Human Rights Campaign forum, so he’s the first to pop his cherry with the gay round table, which consists of the president of the Human Rights Campaign, a black WaPo reporter and Melissa Etheridge. Yes, she’s a lesbian.

Barack’s tending to be boring and not seeming to have much flair.

We’re done liveblogging about Barack unless something really gay, or at least until something interesting happens.

9:23: John Edwards is next in the hot seat. Hair is looking nicely coiffed as usual.

9:26: Edwards says he’s comfortable around gay people. Especially a room full of gay people.

9:34: Edwards says he shouldn’t have said his faith prevents him from supporting gay marriage. “From my perspective, it it wrong…to impose my faith belief on the American people…” Still, his position on same sex marriage has not changed, he adds. “All I can tell you is where I am today.”

9:41: Shorty Kucinich is up to bat. “Imagine the equal sign inside a heart,” says he. “I stand for real equality.” Yup, he’s a gay icon. He may be short, but he’s bigger than Madonna in that respect.

As I recently said on MONICA CROWLEY’s radio show, whisper campaigns are claiming that HILLARY CLINTON is GAYLE KING–ing her aide de camp, the glamorous HUMA ABEDIN, an Indian/Pakistani goddess from Kalamazoo, Michigan. In other words, Hillary may be putting Huma out there in the press and purposely making her more visible as a pre-emptive strike that amounts to her hiding in plain sight. This way, no Republican can later say, “Who is this gorgeous babe who spends so much intimate time with Hillary that the Observer called her Hill’s ‘body person’? Was GENNIFER FLOWERS’s book right about Hillary’s sexual taste?” And does either of this couple have the balls to bottom? Read more…
