DC news personality Bruce Johnson is reporting that Washington Post classical music critic Tim Page has been placed on leave after calling former Mayor Marion Barry a “crack addict” and “useless” in an e-mail sent to Barry’s communication staff.
“Must we hear about it every time this Crack Addict attempts to rehabilitate himself with some new - and typically half witted - political grandstanding?” Page wrote in the controversial e-mail, which was a response to an e-mail he received from Barry’s staff.
Barry has since gotten an apology, and Page has been put on leave. Johnson says that Barry wants Page fired.
