George W. Bush, Laura Bush, Jenna Bush, Barbara Bush and several high-ranking government officials are accomplices. Dear Lord, what is next!!?? Somebody please help these pooches. Please. Help. It’s the Christmas season, for God’s sake.

Big Head DC can confirm that ABC’s Diane Sawyer has taped an interview with Jenna Bush, set to air this Friday on 20/20. The first daughter will discuss her recent book, along with details on her engagement to Henry Hager. It’s the first sit-down interview for Jenna since 2004 when she filmed an A&E fbiography about her mom.

Expect Sawyer to prod Jenna about her engagement ring, which she’s been telling friends she wishes were bigger. And by the way, she’s not preggers.

The official story coming out of the White House is that First Lady Laura Bush was forced to undergo surgery on Friday to relieve pain from pinched nerves in her neck. Her spokesperson says she injured a nerve in her neck and shoulder earlier this year while hiking and has been treated with physical therapy since.

Some rumor-mongers, however, are insisting to Big Head DC that she may be seeking treatment for abuse of alcohol — a problem that has apparently grown worse for her since her arrival in Washington in 2000. 

Whatever the real reason for her hospital stay, the medical issue prevented Laura from accompanying President Bush to Australia this week for the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Sydney.

All President Bush wanted to do was have a quaint all-American lunch today with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, his wife Cecilia and their children as part of his summer vacation in Kennebunkport, Maine. He was planning to serve hot dogs and hamburgers, picnic-style and then maybe take a ride out on the family speedboat.

But, apparently, those plans didn’t stomach well with France’s first lady. She called Laura Bush early this morning and said she and her kids had sore throats and ”were too sick to have lunch with the President.”

Cough, cough. Maybe he should have told them he was serving French fries instead.

Nevermind the rumors that she can’t cook (unless you call pouring wine into a glass cooking), the First Lady appeared on Rachael Ray’s culinary show today to talk about, what else, the dangers of heart disease (eat your heart out Martha Stewart). And we’re sure that the cheese-laden steak hoagies that Ray is known for aren’t contributing to the problem one bit!
