A couple of new kids on the block are making some noise as they launch onto the DC social blogging scene, going so far as to attack WaPo’s nightlife going out guru Fritz Hahn, The Washingtonian’s hotter than hot Catherine Andrews and even a lady after our own bigheaded hearts Ms. Kelly Ann Collins. (They call her “a 30 or 40-something washed up self-proclaimed socialite who hasn’t written anything relevant in years” ).

Them’s fighting words, of course, but, turns out, the kids are rather shy. Going under the anonymous moniker “DC Nightlife Raw,” they desperately do not want you to know who they are. They explain thusly:

We’re a group of seasoned District veterans with possibly the best connections to “inside information” throughout the D.C. nightlife and social scene. Meaning, if you’ve heard about it, we’re already bored of going there. As a result, we want to tackle the “real” questions regarding D.C. nightlife, events, restaurants and happenings with a no holds bar philosophy.

But who REALLY are we?

Well, wouldn’t that be nice if we actually told you? Unfortunately, our positions at certain companies and/or organizations prohibit us from doing so. Plus, the sheer fact of admitting that we write a blog would be akin to social suicide. But rest assured, our need for anonymity will not prevent us from exercising the utmost journalistic integrity in the information and stories we publish.

She is beautiful, in every single way. Yes, words can’t keep her down. And neither can P.I.N.K. vodka, apparently!

Several BHDC tipsters, including the divine Miss Kelly Ann Collins, have reported seeing a quite tipsy Christina Aguilera at Play Lounge this weekend — with a bottle of the caffeine and guarana-infused vodka in tow!

“Miss Thang couldn’t talk clearly enough to say ‘take me drunk, I’m home,’” says the always sparkling Collins. ”And she couldn’t walk any better than a kid who’d just been hit in the head with a kickball. In fact, she was stumbling around like she’d just hopped off a wild merry-go-round.”

Wow. It’s pretty obvious what a girl wants nowadays: alcohol!

Time to time, we’ve had some fun poking at the glorious legend that is Washington’s own Kelly Ann Collins, but, in the end, we always crave her quirky wit and classic allure. Graciously, the vivacious vixen recently sat down for an exclusive BHDC interview to fill us in on all things KAC. While she’s still got a mischievous glow that’ll never die, we were quite surprised when she decided to reveal a more serious side to her fans. BHR: Several people have been asking me where you are, and I keep telling them that you’re busy workin’ it. Is that true?

KAC: I’m always on the go, as usual.

BHR: Are we reading a censored KAC on the Rev blog?

KAC: You’re reading a different side of KAC at Club Rev. Did you know I used to be a hardcore news gal? I was with USATODAY.com for Columbine, Kosovo, the JFK, Jr., crash. (It was called USA Today Interactive back then, I was there during the rise of the dotcom.) I also used to work undercover as an investigative journalist, have run a few companies (two newspapers, PR firm and a Web development company) and have won several press association awards. There are many things you don’t know about me, my dear.

BHR: Oh, I always knew you are hardcore, but some people have an impression of you as not much more than a party girl - DC’s Lindsay Lohan. What would you say to them?

KAC: Hmm. I’d say they need to loosen up. I realize that life is short. Watching my grandmother — who was my best friend — die from cancer was completely painful. I feel sad that she is gone, but lucky to be healthy and surrounded by wonderful people. Believe it or not, I used to be pretty uptight. All business. My grandmother always told me I needed to let my hair down and have more fun. She was right. I was missing out. So now I try to help others as much as I can while living my life to its fullest, in her honor.

BHR: Well said, KAC. How did that rumor get started that you are mad at me? Are you mad at me?

KAC: No idea…I don’t have time for baby games. It probably had something to do with a conversation you had with Jessica Cutler that was posted on some blogs? Someone sent a link to me, but I didn’t have time to read the whole thing. Don’t believe everything you hear — or read. The blogosphere (and the WWW for that matter) can be a crazy place.

BHR: Oh, do I know it. Until we meet again, my dear, keep your chin up and one high heel in front of the other.

Several readers have asked if we have any health advice for them, since we now work for a large consumer-oriented health company.

Well, a few years ago we all had much fun helping our friend Windy with her Leukemia run that we decided to look into what other diseases have become trendy amongst the jet set. So if you plan on getting sick this year, consider our recommendations your license to ill!

First there is Parkinson’s Disease. Michael J. Fox has made this illness something of a cause celebre, but we already knew about Parkinson’s back when only Muhammad Ali had it. *yawn* So yesterday.

There’s also breast cancer, which has become tres gauche since Elizabeth Edwards announced she had recently acquired it. The KAC crew considered helping a breast cancer charity in 2004, but too many animalistic men (eww!) kept coming up to our well-endowed redheaded friend (who shall remain nameless) and asking if she wanted an “inspection.” One means, really.

But, alas, we found ourselves a delightful little standby called the bunion. It’s all the rage amongst we Manolo Blahnik gals, who like to prance about in four-inch heels at 4 a.m. but most importantly, we found ourselves a cute podiatrist *kisses* who loves to coddle our widdle piggies every time they get snaggled. Bon vivant!

So we recommend the latter of these diseases to keep your toes twinkling and to make your full calendar of maladies complete! Viva la foot fetishist!
