Jules Witcover, a veteran newspaperman of 50 years, having written for the Baltimore Sun, the now-defunct Washington Star, the Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post, is ready to share some of the secrets of the craft he’s learned over the years.
He’ll begin teaching a class called Politics and the Media as an adjunct professor at American U this fall, Big Head DC has learned.
Perhaps he’ll unveil to students some of his own political battles within the journalism world, especially from back in 2005 when the Baltimore Sun dismissed him after cutting his salary by more than two-thirds and publishing him less frequently.
“The coldness of it was what irritated me the most,” he told Howard Kurtz at the time.
Witcover’s syndicated column now appears in the Examiner.
