This time it’s Rep. John Shadegg of Arizona, who announced his retirement on Monday evening. “I have no intention of letting up in the fight for my beliefs,” Shadegg said in an e-mail, reported by the AP. “I simply believe it is time for me to do so in some other capacity.” The news came as a shock to several GOP officials, since Shadegg had already raised more than $1 million to defend his seat in November.
