    Michigan Governor Has Emergency Surgery

    Gov. Jennifer Granholm underwent emergency surgery last night to treat a bowel obstruction. The surgery is believed to be due to complications from a 1993 car accident, according to the Detroit Free Press. The governor is now resting comfortably but her plans to travel to Israel and Kuwait have been canceled.
