Filed under: Jeff Gannon, Scott McClellan

jeff-gannon.jpgJeff Gannon, former White House reporter, believes the following statement released yesterday from former White House spokesman Scott McClellan was “cherry-picked” by his publisher, and could prove to be misleading: “I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President’s chief of staff, and the president himself.”

“This tantalizing bit seemed to have the intended effect judging from the volume and trajectory of spittle emanating from the mouth of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews,” writes Gannon today. “Visions of the Fitzmas that never came surely danced in the heads of David Shuster and Keith Olbermann. Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd predictably recited the Watergate mantra, calling on the new Attorney General to launch an investigation to determine the extent of any cover up and ‘what the President knew and when he knew it.’”

Gannon brings up a March 6, 2007 Larry King interview with McClellan to bolster his claim: Read more…

jeff-gannon.JPGJeff Gannon’s recent book, “The Great Media War: A Battlefield Report” will be among those featured at the 2007 National Press Club Book Fair on Nov. 1.

“Gannon, the first exclusively online reporter to cover the White House on a regular basis is considered a new media pioneer,” according to a release announcing the development. ”He notes that his daily readership of more than half a million topped the circulation of most newspapers, despite reporting for a small news outlet.”

He’s expected to be available to sign copies on the day of the event.

Patrick Gavin and Jeff Dufour, those pretty gossip boys over at the Examiner, have penned a second item in less than a month on Jeff Gannon’s book, which, according to our own reporting at Radar, has been selling less well than Gannon has hoped. So! The question begs to be asked: Are Gavin and Dufour in bed with Gannon?

Filed under: Jeff Gannon, Scoops, Karl Rove

jeff-gannon.JPGGay escort-turned-White House correspondent Jeff Gannon tells Big Head DC he didn’t have an affair with Karl Rove — no matter what you’ve read on the Internet.

The claims was originally posted at TalonNews.com, which once carried Gannon’s reporting, and were then picked up by Wonkette yesterday.

“The only truth to be found in either piece is that Karl Rove is leaving the White House and I have a book coming out in September,” Gannon told us. “I can assure you that there is no connection between the two events.”

Filed under: Jeff Gannon, Matt Sanchez

Matt Sanchez is a true patriot taking great risks to bring the truth back from Iraq that mainstream journalists have failed in doing,” Jeff Gannon told Big Head DC this morning. “What you and others have suggested about Matt’s personal life does not diminish his courageous reporting in the least.”

Sanchez has himself admitted to performing in gay pornographic films.

Filed under: Jeff Gannon, Summer sightings

A Big Head DC commenter, using the moniker “George Michael cruises in Public places!” wrote in earlier today with this “Gawker Stalker”-style golden nugget:

gannon_whitney.JPGSo I am on the metro on the way home from the bar on monday night (because of course i was at a bar on a monday night) and who do I see sitting across from me on the train other than the illustrious Jeff Gannon. I noticed him at first because he was cruising me like crazy…. that creepy old guy kinda cruising. I looked back long enough to make sure it was him (and it was) and then moved to the other end of the car. He continued staring at me until he got off at Eastern Market. I was shocked to see him… I never thought he would come down and ride the metro with all of us “little people.”

We had to get to the bottom of this (ha, get it, bottom!!!), so we asked Gannon if the madness is true.

“That quote is about a year old,” responded the former White House reporter. “Not true then, not true now.”

And he’s not above riding public transport, either: “As a responsible citizen, I ride the Metro frequently,” said he. “I would imagine people see me all the time.”

Filed under: Scandals, Jeff Gannon, Gay, Tom Tancredo, Tyler Whitney

gannon_whitney.JPGJeff Gannon, the former White House reporter who was outed nationally after bloggers raised questions about the authenticity of his reporting, is lending his support to Tyler Whitney, the 18-year-old Tom Tancredo presidential campaign staffer who’s been embroiled in a gay scandal of his own.

Whitney, you’ll recall, is a self-professed up-and-coming conservative activist who works as a webmaster for Tancredo. Whitney leads an antigay political group on his college campus and has carried a “Go Back in the Closet!” sign at an antigay protest.

Whitney has also reportedly told some friends that he is gay, which has prompted gay columnists and others to decry his apparent hypocrisy.

But Gannon is now defending the embattled staffer.

“The angry gay left continues to practice the politics of personal destruction,” Gannon tell Big Head DC. “These hatemongers are so threatened by an 18-year-old guy who doesn’t want to live his life on the pink plantation that they have to try to destroy him. Kudos to Tancredo and his staff for standing up for him. Maybe Tancredo isn’t as ‘anti-gay’ as the angry gay left wants its sheeple to believe.”

Tancredo supporters, including Bay Buchanan, an adviser to the campaign, have said that Whitney’s sexual orientation should be a personal matter.

Filed under: Jeff Gannon, Washington Post, Dana Milbank, Religion

Dana Milbank wrote a column last week regarding the turnout at the 18th annual U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon, indicating that it was practically nonexistent. Jeff Gannon, a spokesman for the event’s host, the International Bible Reading Association, tells Big Head DC today that Milbank was flat out lying:

1.  Milbank was at the Bible Marathon. He asked me where everyone was. I told him, “It’s not that kind of event. The chairs were set up for the National Day of Prayer event that would follow the conclusion of the Marathon. The Bible Marathon is for the benefit of the participants and not meant to attract an audience although sometimes people sit to listen. Over 750 readers participated over 90 the continuous hours of the five-day event, including members of Congress. That is a great success.”

2.  Milbank wrote something he knew was untrue. That’s worse than “inaccurate.” Where I grew up, we call it “lying”.

3.  Milbank was a regular on Olbermann at the height of Gannongate. He is a liberal partisan who harbors anti-Christian animus.

The Washington Post was irresponsible to print the column. Milbank and the Washington Post would never have mocked a Muslim event.
