BHDC 'Hud Morgan' File:

pat-and-anne2.PNGOops, she did it again. Anne “Mellons” Schroeder, the recently-wed gossip columnist of The Politico, has referenced the reporting of columnist Lloyd Grove in the context of her own reporting for the dozenth time today since she started writing for the paper in late January. Grove, you’ll recall, is Schroeder’s former boss at the Washington Post. Don’t get us wrong, we talk about other reporters’ work all the time — but we’re just curious, does Grove send her tips to point out about his work, so she’ll then shill it, or does Schroeder just always have stars in her eyes for Mr. G? If that’s the case, she’s a whole lot different than Hud Morgan, who worked as Grove’s beleaguered assistant at The New York Daily News.

Gossip columnists and bloggers have been chattering for months now about a possible return to the District by The New York Daily News’ LLoyd Grove, WaPo’s Reliable Source once upon a time. But the snark-meister himself is a little confused by the rumors.

“Concerning my triumphant return to DC, I only know what I read in the blogs,” he told Big Head Rob today. “Otherwise, I’m in the dark–but I am always happy to have information concerning my career future.

“As far as I’m aware, I have no plans other than to continue writing my column at The New York Daily News. I miss seeing many of my DC friends, but New York is fabulous (if maybe a tad too expensive).”

He also shared a little gossip about BRAVO’s oh-so-over “Tabloid Wars” and the obsession that some weirdos had with Hud Morgan, formerly of The New Republic, then with the NYDN, and now with Men’s Vogue.

“Hud not only stole the show,” teased Grove, “he WAS the show.”

Happy Friday, kids.

Bravo is moving the last two episodes of the The New York Daily News-focused reality show to 7 p.m. on Mondays. Journalists — the only people watching at this point — will still be at work and/or stuck in traffic…and Rupert Murdoch wins again.

BTW, where the hell was Hud Morgan this week? We were all ready to share some gossip from his time interning at The New Republic.

OK, OK, you forced it out of us. Michelle Cottle, a longtime senior ed at the pub, told BHR that Morgan was “much more laid back than your average TNR intern, not to mention one hell of a cat sitter.”

“I loved Hud personally,” added Cottle, “but as a staff writer, I have no insight into his work.”

And no word on what kinds of pussies Morgan was good at sitting. Cougars, perhaps?

That’s what the former NYDN assistant gossip columnist exclaimed upon seeing a wackadoo watch worn by infamous publicist to the stars Lizzie Grubman on last night’s “Tabloid Wars.” Eye roll. Saunter.

We just wonder if Hudson was so darn fancy when he interned at The New Republic…anyone?

There was also an odd moment on the program when former NYDN editor-in-chief Michael Cooke noticed that Mr. M was wearing flip flops. Cooke made some strange comment about the boy’s feet to gossiper Lloyd Grove, and Grove said something to the effect that he thought Cooke had a foot fetish, so he didn’t really see this development as a problem…

Yes, kids, who among us doesn’t love a gay ole newsroom?
