The commenters have not been kind to WaPo’s The Sleuth blogger since the debut of her column just over a month ago. Some critique-filled gems over the past week alone:

Is this the new WaPoo strategy, reporting on the irrelevant, irreverent and inane fringes of the real news? Say good-by to the rest of your dwindling circulation, both in print and online editions.

For a column called Sleuth this is pretty pathetic. Just what exactly is interesting, informative or investigative in the article?

This kind of writing is better suited for a gossip site like Perez Hilton, not a legitimate news source!

Are you kidding me? Great sleuthing, madame Akers. Excuse me while I try and hold down my lunch.

It’s ‘wacky,’ my sister, not ‘whacky.’ If you’re going to serve it, you’d better be able to spell it.

The furor this weekend continues to center on Ann Coulter’s comments at a CPAC event, in which she said, “I would comment on John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot.’”

Not wanting to be “swift boated,” John Edwards quickly fought back, offering this retort in a statement Saturday: “Ann Coulter’s use of an anti-gay slur yesterday was un-American and indefensible. In America, we strive for equality and embrace diversity. The kind of hateful language she used has no place in political debate or our society at large.”

“I believe it is our moral responsibility to speak out against that kind of bigotry and prejudice every time we encounter it,” he added.

The bigger question remains: If perfectly quaffed hair and a perhaps too perfect grin qualify you as being gay in this town, then couldn’t every politician under the age of fifty qualify as gay nowadays?

The popular liberal blogger over at AMERICAblog is taking issue with the party Big Head DC is co-hosting for Michael Musto, along with Katherine Kennedy and Jeff Gannon.

He doesn’t seem to have a problem with Kennedy nor BHR, but Gannon’s involvement has really gotten his goat:

Sorry, but that’s rather creepy and juvenile that you chose to have Gannon host this party. A discredited plagiarist who has a serious problem with gays and their civil rights is the guy the very gay Musto wants to associate his book with? Who thought up that brilliant PR move? I’ll take a pass.

Yeah, because controversy - and sex - are usually the first things authors want to shy away from.

It seems that the silly billys over at my libelous fan site just can’t keep pace. Poor little piggies just don’t know what to do:

When you realize that someone is absolutely insane, do you just slowly back away and shut the door to the rubber blog room? Or, knowing that he’s hurting others (and, by extension, himself), do you try to wrestle a straightjacket on him? I mean really, who gives a shit if he hurts himself, but he’s hurting others. What to do, what to do…

Oh, the life of a gossip. Well, kids, all I can say is you gotta do what you gotta do. But there is hope: Stay tuned for a new BHDC column, set to debut on Monday, that promises to offer sage advice to any and all ailing DC bloggers.

It’s true. My dogs are named Teeni Turner (a Shih Tzu who has wild, crazy hair) and Nugget (a pug who looks like a chicken McNugget). They really, truly seem to love their madcap monikers. Still, the writers over at my libelous Big Head Rob fan site think their names are the “worst imaginable.”

I can’t wait to see what said writers are gonna do when they find out that I’ve named my baby bigheadDC.com!

(For those of you who are concerned about the feelings of my precious pooches, don’t fret, they much prefer chewing bones over reading the Internet.)
