Editors and interns are jumping ship from Gawker Media, publisher of Wonkette, quicker than you can say, “Nick Denton loves Big Head DC.”

First, the lovely Doree Shafrir left the NYC-based blog earlier this month for the New York Observer, and now Alex Balk, another lead editor at Gawker, has put in notice as he’s heading to Radar. Also! Wonkette intern Greg Wasserstrom has left DC for NYC, presumably leaving Alex Pareene’s side for good (his writing is also starting to appear on Raw Story, we’ve noticed).  

We must point out that all these moves come at a time when it’s been speculated by many media outlets that Denton is raking in tons of dough. Perhaps he’s not been sharing enough of the bread? After all, those Gawker kids have always been hungry for more!

What is this? A pandemic?

Another manly man we know, Greg Wasserstrom, of Wonkette infamy, shares today that he’s been approached by gay men in Washington bathrooms for public sex.

“Once, while before eating dinner at the Diner in Adams Morgan, [I] went to wash [my] hands in the men’s room,” says Wasserstrom. “After a moment at the sink, a gentleman in the bathroom stall pushed the door open enough to reveal that he was vigorously masturbating, querying, ‘wanna come suck this dick?’”

Instead of reacting like Tucker Carlson (bashing the guy’s head in), Wasserstrom decided to write about the incident in his blog. And he comes to this enlightened conclusion: Read more…

Whoopsy daisy! Wonkette intern Greg Wasserstrom thought that Deborah Jeane Palfrey’s last name is spelled Paltrey until we sent him a nice little note explaining his boo boo. The correction went up today, and we hear that Wasserstrom is really embarrassed. Which is odd, since Wonketteers traditionally revel in their errors. Chin up, Greg. Another day, another dollar. You work for the Gawker Media Empire now and that means never having to say you’re sorry.
