Wonder what Larry Sinclair thinks about this article from the controversial Matt Sanchez?

On Wednesday the following post appeared on the popular liberal Daily Kos blog, and it received several comments — but it has since been removed:

Oh dear. Some of you may have seen that crazy guy who popped up on Youtube making ridiculous allegations about limo sex against Barack Obama. Since he first appeared, he has been doing everything possible to get noticed by the media and to my complete shock, he has actually succeeded. A TV Show in Puerto Rico called SuperXclusivo (apparently a very popular show) had a phone interview with him earlier today. I didn’t watch the whole thing but they didn’t even ask him for any evidence whatsoever for his claims. Obviously, there is a PRIMARY in Puerto Rico in a few months, so this is pretty troubling. I saw the clip on Youtube and I believe it aired later today. This is a very popular show. I am somewhat freaking out. What do you guys think? Link below the fold.

Larry Sinclair, the man who claims to have used drugs and had sex with Obama in 1999, believes the site took the post down once it was clear that it was becoming popular.

In recent days, the gay press has expressed concerns that Obama has chosen not to do interviews with members from its community.

The Puerto Rican news interview with Sinclair has yet to appear online.

Filed under: Howard Dean, Gay, Kevin Naff

During a deposition on March 8, DNC Chairman Howard Dean took issue with reporting published in The Washington Blade, Washington, D.C.’s gay newspaper. In fact, he implies that he’s stopped reading the paper altogether.

The revelation made Kevin Naff, editor of the publication, pretty angry. Naff offered the following heated comments on Queerty over the weekend:

As the editor of the Blade, I challenge Howard Dean to specify the facts/stories the paper supposedly got wrong over the years. The DNC has NEVER called me in the past few years to say we got a fact wrong and needed to run a correction.

His disdain for the gay press is obvious in his sneering, arrogant testimony. He cannot question the paper’s credibility like this without offering some specifics.

If we got something wrong, we’ll correct it. But the DNC needs to give me specifics. Until then, it’s just more anti-gay rhetoric. I’m waiting, Mr. Dean.

Coming on the heels of all the race and gender issues being raised during this year’s Democratic campaign for president, one has to wonder if this war of words might be a sign of another fissure in the traditional Democratic Party coalition.

Filed under: Sex, Scandals, Jim McGreevey, Gay, Dina Matos McGreevey, Teddy Pedersen

teddy-pedersen.jpgDid you catch Dina Matos McGreevey on the cable news networks last week decrying the hypocrisy of former New Yorker Gov. Eliot Spitzer for hooking up with hookers? The ex-wife of Jim McGreevey must have seemed like a pretty good expert to dish on such a tawdry subject. After all, who can forget the spectacle of her standing by her man in 2004 when McGreevey resigned as New Jersey’s governor after revealing he was involved in gay relationships?

Turns, out, though, that Dina may be just as big a hypocrite.

“A former driver and aide to former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey yesterday made the bombshell claim that Dina Matos McGreevey must have always known her husband was gay - because he was the other man in bed with them,” the New York Post reports.

“She’s framed herself as a victim - yet she was a willing participant,” Teddy Pedersen, the governor’s former driver, tells the newspaper. “She had complete control over what happened in her relationship. She was there, she knew what was happening, she made the moves. We all did. It’s disgusting to watch her play the victim card.”

According to the report, “the threesomes began in the late 1990s, while Dina and Jim were dating, continued after their October 2000 marriage, and had ended by the time McGreevey was elected governor in November 2001.”

“He liked watching me, and she would watch me while she was [performing sex acts] with Jim,” Pedersen is quoted as saying. “In my opinion, me being a part of their sexual relationship enhanced it for both of them.”

Funny Dina didn’t mention any of that last week.

From the Bilerico Project:

There was a time - not too many election cycles ago - when LGBT families were virtually invisible to politicians, and candidates sat in silence when it came time to speak out on issues important to our community or, even more importantly, when the time came to take action and expand the rights available to us.

Now, with the 2008 race for the White House, much has changed.

As Bilerico reported earlier, Senator Barack Obama recently launched an ad campaign in the LGBT media, reaching out to our community for votes as the Democratic race for the White House tightens. And on February 27, Senator Hillary Clinton sat down for an unprecedented conference call with reporters from LGBT media outlets in the critical, upcoming primary states of Texas and Ohio.

Senator Clinton’s message was clear: She wants lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans to hear directly from her . . . and she wants to take the time to talk with our community about how she will move us forward toward equality.

As the first article from Senator Clinton’s interview with reporters in Texas and Ohio notes, “The Obama campaign declined an interview” with the Gay People’s Chronicle, despite the paper “trying to get live interviews with both candidates after the Wisconsin primary on February 18.”

And while there’s no doubt that a Clinton or Obama presidency would arrive in the Oval Office as being the most pro-LGBT in American history, the courage in speaking up means something, too: Going on the record, explaining your own positions and making a personal, first-hand appeal for the support of our community leaves an impression.
