In an ever-growing trend, Al Hubbard, director of President George W. Bush’s National Economic Council, will step down by the end of the year. The president had asked all employees who wanted to leave his administration before it commenced to hand in their resignations by September. Hubbard now joins Fran Townsend and Karen Hughes in bucking that request. Karl Rove obliged.
