The California Nurses Association is launching a new national campaign highlighting what the group has dubbed “CheneyCare,” or guaranteed, publicly-funded health care for all Americans. The advertisements, inspired by the success of the group’s Iowa ads declaring that Vice President Dick Cheney “would be dead” if he did not have publicly-funded health care, appear in several newspapers and on select political blogs today.

It’s long been rumored in Washington political circles (especially Democratic ones) that one of Dick Cheney’s old Halliburton numbers appears in the records of “DC Madam” Deborah Jeane Palfrey, but now questions are multiplying regarding the Cheney matriarch’s faithfulness. New York Magazine this week published a piece by columnist Kurt Andersen, who states at one point, “I’m not talking about idle Schadenfreude, the fleeting, naughty satisfaction one takes, for instance, in Dick Cheney’s shotgun accident or his wife’s extravagant flirtations with a friend of mine over the years or even (forgive me, God) his atrial fibrillation last week.” Andersen is keeping mum on which of his friends Lynne Cheney has been making advances toward, but word is he’s younger and - no surprise - in better health than Dick.

permalinkOn Tucker this evening, Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said he sees nothing “radical” about impeaching Vice President Dick Cheney. “This isn’t a political move,” said Kucinich. “This is something that I feel is needed to protect our Constitution.”

Last week the Democratic presidential candidate was prepping to impeach Dick Cheney. Now he says he’ll take down President Bush himself. The news came during a conference call Kucinich held with supporters on Monday evening. David Swanson, an activist who spoke directly with Kucinich during the call, summarized the contents of his conversation in an e-mail obatined by Raw Story. “He is going to introduce a privileged resolution on the floor of the U.S. House Tuesday morning to force a vote on his resolution to impeach Cheney,” Swanson wrote, adding that Kucinich “wanted to let everyone know that he will not only continue pushing for the impeachment of Cheney but will also take up the impeachment of Bush with a new resolution.”
