While it just came out today that Christy Oglevee is the ex-Redskinette who got fired for dating Chris Cooley of the Washington Redskins, she and he didn’t seem to have purposely been keeping their relationship under wraps. Last fall the duo was seen smooching on the sidelines after a game in which Cooley scored the winning touchdown against the Carolina Panthers.

Chris Cooley, the only player in league history to simultaneously put the Dallas Cowboys and Redskinettes in disarray, is marrying the woman who got fired from her job because of him.

Okay, it was a part-time job. And it paid only $75 a week.

“But it’ll be a good story to tell our kids one day,” Christy Oglevee said.

Maybe we should explain.

Christy is Chris’s fiancee. They met two summers ago when a cheerleader Cooley briefly dated brought her fellow Redskinette — Christy — over to Chris’s house. This was probably not a good idea for two reasons: 1) The Redskins prohibit company employees from fraternizing with players; and 2) Introducing a person you’ve started dating to your attractive friend can be hazardous.

The Reliable Source featured an item this weekend about the heckling endured by the Redskins’ Chris Cooley after he showed up to an offseason practice last week wearing “snug, hipbone-skimming shorts.”

The always-sassy (and seemingly-horny) writers of the column, Amy Argetsinger and Roxanne Roberts, now wonder whether Cooley will help foster a comeback for the fashion statement, which went out of style sometime during the late 1980s.

“Get used to this look, fellas,” the gossip gals said with a hint of snark. ”Next summer, you’ll probably all be wearing it.”

But, really, can the sometimes stuffy Washington set pull this look off again?
