We’re not understanding the causation thesis put forward here by Politico’s Anne Schroeder Mullins. Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time she’s utterly confused us.

Get this. Anne “Mellons” Schroeder was to solo host a Politico online chat yesterday, but her bosses asked that co-writer Helena Andrews sit in on the chat. Andrews, who some say is much more worldly than Schroeder, ended up stealing all of her thunder. In fact, questioners began addressing their questions only to Helena. One, we hear, even asked that Schroeder not weigh in on one of their questions. Schroeder is believed to have ignored that question.

The famous Wonkette sub calls the Politico reporter a “gossip grunt,” which can only leave negative connotations — that is, if you’re human. We’d call this a cat fight, but it’s more like a pony fight!

Just like we promised, here’s some fresh Anne “Mellons” Schroeder dish. Apparently she’s got some hideous secret about her teeth. And she doesn’t want you to know about it. We knew something untoward was going on when she started off a recent column with these strange words: “In a town where you don’t want to admit you even have a dentist, much less a plastic surgeon”…. Yikes, we love admitting to having a dentist, Anne. After all, this isn’t England! We’re supposed to have good oral hygiene. The Politico sauce is flowing our way again, kids! Some media insiders, both inside and outside the newsroom, think that reporter Aoife McCarthy did a much better job of working the gossip beat when she filled in for a few weeks in Sept. while Anne “Mellons” Schroeder was busy tying the knot.

“It’s not fair that Anne gets to keep the choice spot when most of her scoops come from other reporters,” one source, who asked not to be identified, tells Big Head DC. “Aoife deserves a byline at least on some stuff.”  Read more…

Oops, she did it again. Anne “Mellons” Schroeder, the recently-wed gossip columnist of The Politico, has referenced the reporting of columnist Lloyd Grove in the context of her own reporting for the dozenth time today since she started writing for the paper in late January. Grove, you’ll recall, is Schroeder’s former boss at the Washington Post. Don’t get us wrong, we talk about other reporters’ work all the time — but we’re just curious, does Grove send her tips to point out about his work, so she’ll then shill it, or does Schroeder just always have stars in her eyes for Mr. G? If that’s the case, she’s a whole lot different than Hud Morgan, who worked as Grove’s beleaguered assistant at The New York Daily News.

Politico’s Anne “Mellons” Schroeder is floating a rumor that FOX News is “waving a white flag” by going all Democratic this weekend. But she’s wrong — lots of conservatives will be in their proper place. Big Head DC has confirmed that Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager will be on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace, which is pretty much not surprising. But, hey! We hear the Politico is going all conservative today, since their current top story talks about Newt Gingrich.

As you learned here last month, the Politico’s gossip gal was recently wed; today she started signing her married name to those choppy words she churns out: Anne Schroeder Mullins. Despite being married for weeks, her pub just got around to updating her new name in their content management system. But we shouldn’t poke fun, since it did take them at least three months to install a spell checker on her blog.
