Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite has released a letter that says the director of the House page program brought in “the operator of an abortion clinic” to speak to the young pages.

“When I spoke to one irate parent, they made the comment that, ‘I didn’t send my kid to Washington, D.C., to become knowledgeable about abortion techniques’….I understand that this speaker was brought in without approval of the Page Board, but no disciplinary action has been taken,” the GOP lawmaker wrote in the letter.

Brown-Waite resigned from the House Page Board last week after two teens were expelled for shoplifting and two others were caught performing oral sex in front of other pages, who were touching themselves. Former Congressman Mark Foley resigned last year after he was caught sending sexual instant messages to male pages.

The semester for the current crop of sex-loving pages ends Friday.

Despite many minutes of loud badgering from Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul maintained his stance that abortion should be left to the states — that is Roe v. Wade should be overturned. Smaller national government would be good for both mothers and fetuses, said he. Behar concluded the segment by looking Paul in the eye and saying he knows he’s not going to win.

Although Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson already had a child decades ago, his opinions on abortion didn’t firm up until four years ago when his second wife Jeri became pregnant with his second round of kids. That’s what he told Tim Russert today when pressed on his personal views on the controversial topic. Thompson contends he’s always been pro-life in his mind, but many conservatives have questioned his stance. He believes that states should be able to individually decide on abortion laws.

We mistakenly wrote last week that Reps. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) and Brad Ellsworth (D-Ind.) support abortion rights. They are both, in fact, anti-abortion.

Just a thought: How exactly does one make that kind of mistake? Most articles about the duo note their political stances on abortion…

You know, you can put a suit on a rube, you can mousse up a rube’s hair and send a rube to college, but at the end of the day, it’s still a rube. Yesterday, the Mississippi State Senate passed a bill that would ban most abortions and charge anyone who performs one with a misdemeanor, a $5,000 fine and up to a year in jail. The bill would allow abortions in cases of rape, incest and if the woman’s life is in danger.

Gawd, tell me about it. Roosh V, for instance, is such a rube he has a toy named after him: the Rubik’s Cube.
