I’m sorry, I just don’t get it. This lady is on the wrong side of every woman’s issue, on the wrong side of the independents, and prima facie unqualified. She’s embroiled in at least one scandal (that we know of), and it appears that in the 90s she was a memeber of a secessionist party, with whom she still cutlivates good relations, and whose 2008 convention she addressed from the Governor’s Office, telling them to “keep up the good work.”

I did not slander SP, the media took care of all of that. Though I must say, there is a smorgasbord of issues to discuss about her. Last year Sarah Palin and the Alaska legislature put in place a windfall profits tax that increased revenue from taxing the profits oil companies made from Alaskan oil by six billion dollars in just one fiscal year. That’s more than half of the money that they were already making on taxing oil company profits. That brings the total money generated in taxes to ten billion from oil company profits alone.
Not only is Alaska making a killing off of this oil company tax, Sarah Palin just signed legislation suspending the state gasoline tax for one year and is sending checks for up to $1200 each to Alaskan families to help offset the high price of fuel.
When the Democrats suggest anything close to this (minus the sending out of $1200 checks) it is akin to Marxist socialism! Redistribution of wealth! Communism!
It’s a big ol’ whopper of a double standard and I want answers.
The $1200 rebate checks don’t come from the Alaska Permanent Fund either. They come from taxes on profits.
What I mean is: Alaskan residents get the rebate check plus the Alaska Permanent Fund check that they get from the government already.
