Keith Olbermann is working overtime to have people believe that WaPo’s Dana Milbank, a longtime contributor to his MSNBC program, was forced off the network as a result of pressure from Olbermann over a piece Milbank wrote last week satirizing Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential presumptions.
Not so, says Milbank. “I started contract talks with CNN on July 7,” Milbank told Big Head DC this afternoon. “It has nothing to do with last week’s column. I like Keith, and I’m sorry he’s angry about my departure.”
Milbank began appearing on CNN last night on Campbell Brown’s program — the network’s competitor to Olbermann.
“Keith, working ever harder to court his liberal fan base, obviously wants people to believe he was directly involved in Dana’s exit,” a cable TV honcho not affiliated with CNN or MSNBC told BHDC. “The truth is simply that Dana got a much better offer. And Olbermann decided to spin it his way.”

KO is so tight in bed with Obama that he now sells out once close friends. Kudos to DM for seeing through that BS.
I thought Milbank’s piece was highly entertaining. Maybe Keith is just jealous since his version of comedy seems to limited to those annoying “Worst Person in the World” bits.
OLBERMANN WILL DO/SAY ANYTHING TO MAKE HIMSELF LOOK GOOD TO WHOMEVER HE’S KISSING BUTT AT THE MOMENT. KOS FANS, IN THIS CASE.

[…] Olbermann/Milbank: Coincidence? Big Head D.C. has Dana Milbank saying that his leaving for CNN had nothing to do with the kerfuffle that erupted on Countdown which Keith Olbermann detailed yesterday… Keith Olbermann is working overtime to have people believe that WaPo’s Dana Milbank, a longtime contributor to his MSNBC program, was forced off the network as a result of pressure from Olbermann over a piece Milbank wrote last week satirizing Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential presumptions. Not so, says Milbank. “I started contract talks with CNN on July 7,” Milbank told Big Head DC this afternoon. “It has nothing to do with last week’s column. Uberjackoff will need friends @ other networks when Obama goes down in flames (sorry Sinclair)…Milbank is no little sister to Uberjack…he’s his own jackoff.
Milbank is Uber’s twin so I am happy for them to start their Odrama drones on competing networks…FOX will reap the reward!
Obviously Olbermann did this to thwart Larry Sinclair.
Keith Olberman is a loser as a journalist, and is a disgrace to the profession. It is pathetic that someone thinks they need to be an egomaniac to be somebody. The WaPa article had a great deal of truth within its satire of the Presumptuous Nominee.
TWP: FOX may not always be “fair and balanced”, but it is the only one that at least comes close to trying.
Msnbc is definetly in the tank for obama!! Don’t think they are responsible journalists!!They are doing the same to Mccain as they did Hillary!!Too biased!!Sickening if you ask me!!Poor excuse for journalists!!Where have all the good journalists gone!!They all have tunnel vision!! They see one way!!
I saw Olbermann’s announcement. There was no spin. He said that they hadn’t used Dana on the show since he truncated the Obama second hand quote and rebuffed all questioning about it (true), that the show had been waiting for some explanation about the quote (believable, but not confirmable), and that Dana had taken any decision about his future appearances out of their hands by taking another job (also true).
The only thing about the announcement that could be considered bad form at all is that Keith actually read the true quote that Dana changed. Dana’s entire column falls apart if he uses the entire quote.
Left or right, Dana will choose the chance to snark over the truth everytime.
Will the real Keith Olbermann please stand up!!!!!!

[…] Milbank says that Olbermann’s producer told him that there was some concern on the staff about a “favorable” comment Milbank had made about McCain adviser Charlie Black in June. From the Politico story: Here’s the exchange from June 23, where Olbermann talked to Milbank on-air about Black’s statement to Fortune magazine, that a terrorist attack would be a “big advantage” for the McCain campaign. […]
Keith Olbermann lost his mind about 6 months ago, right along with Chris Matthews and the other Obama worshippers. Idiots!
It’s all about the “O” with Obamann.
[…] Oh. My. God. Milbank committed the ultimate sin! Well, the sin just below criticizing “The One.” He praised The Enemy’s Force! Oh, the hideousness of it all! Here’s the exchange from June 23, where Olbermann talked to Milbank on-air about Black’s statement to Fortune magazine, that a terrorist attack would be a “big advantage” for the McCain campaign. OLBERMANN: But where do we go in terms of this story from here? Does McCain have to, whether he likes it or not, fire Charlie Black or face having this bell along with other bells around his neck all summer and all fall? […]

Milbank put out a story that was basically false, by altering a “quotation.” Real news organizations don’t allow that.
