For the first time, Bush revealed a personal way in which he has tried to acknowledge the sacrifice of soldiers and their families: He has given up golf.
“I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf,” he said. “I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.”
Bush said he made that decision after the August 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which killed Sergio Vieira de Mello, the top U.N. official in Iraq and the organization’s high commissioner for human rights.
“I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man’s life,” he said. “I was playing golf — I think I was in central Texas — and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, ‘It’s just not worth it anymore to do.’”
Not to mention the fact that Mossad was able to tape Poppy Bush telling Sonny Boy what was going to happen on 9-11 before it happened on the golf course. Not the entire of plan, of course. The main reason I think there was no BushCo. conspiracy about 9/11 is not that they wouldn’t think such a thing wasn’t a swell idea, but look… if Bush really knew about it, would he get caught like a deer in the headlights reading “The Pet Goat” for school children? It is your right to be “pissed off,” it doesn’t solve anything, nor does it make your feelings about what is happening in the world any more fervent. I won’t give you a bunch of cliches about laughing through difficult times, as you have obviously made your decision. While many are dissolutioned and even more are apathetic, there are many who are motivated and, wait for it, hopeful (that has nothing to do with Obama). So, given the 2 choices…being pissed off versus cautious optimism, I choose the latter.

It’s as though you are trying to be some sort of martyr or something (just an opinion). I am somewhat philosophical in that I try to “know thyself” and the limits of my knowledge. For argument’s sake, let’s say that everything you think is going to happen, does. I mean, one thing is for sure, we are all going to die, even if it is by being “murdered for profit.” I don’t see how your way of dealing with it, i.e. being angry, changes anything. I have laughed at the Jon Stewart clips I’ve seen on the net, but not enough to allow Fox News into my house. That could change, I have high hopes for Mr. Murdoch and Fox News and even the US itself. A glimmer.

And the times we live in are the worst ever. If you believe, as I and Rev. Wright do, that AIDS is secret US biowarfare against the third world developed first in 1968 as a weapon against Southeast Asia (but not deployed there until the 80’s), then what Poppy has done has made Hitler look like a rank amateur. AIDS will eventually kill over 100 millon people worldwide, and that makes the Holocaust look like the Wedding at Cana.
Hitler at least had the balls to come out and say what he believed in which made him a target; the crew running our country and military and intel agencies now believe in the exact same objectives, only with different victims, while pretending to be the shining light on the hill, while accusing their enemies of exactly what they, themselves, have been doing, covertly, for decades. Everything they say is doublespeak and lies. It gets so convoluted sometimes you don’t know who the enemy is, who is on which side, and that’s where their strength lies.
We live in truly horrific Orwellian times. But there is a glimmer of hope. Only time will tell if it’s the light at the end of the tunnel or the headlight on the hurtling train.
