The coffee was probably going to be handed to him at a counter, or table and he was suppose to SMILE and say THANK YOU!, demonstrating his middle class appreciation , she is someone’s good natured MOM .
Instead, he walks in and when asked if he would like some coffee…he says’ NOPE(”?) “GIVE me some OJ”…that is not good manners ,AND YOU DON’T TALK LIKE THAT TO SOMEONE YOU DON’T KNOW WELL…no “please”…or “I’d hate to bother you, but I don’t drink coffee”, or “I already had a cup.” It reflects good upbringing to we white folks…I guess it’s cultural(?).
If you have been reading my blogs, I have remarked several times that he lacks common good manners. I am willing to consider that he was arrogant, and considered this woman to be a lesser person, not worthy of good manners.
