Love her… think she is adorable! Seen her blog, she appears to be a smart kid. Hillary does not get the nomination… I’m voting for McCain.
I like her approach. We have enough people in the political sphere who spend alot of time telling us how smart they are..it is disarming to have a person not get caught up in the Big Head DC of it all.
I also agree with her the the Whitehouse needs some Warhols, he’d be so proud(Warhol)! A Kooning might be great too… It seems to defy the stereotype that the McCain’s would really revive the Whitehouse, and put a youthful look to the sedate old lady. The new and fresh approach really works. It seems that Cindy McCain has done a wonderful job raising the children(McCain is probably absent a good deal of the time).
The interest in pop culture, and the lives of real Americans would not be too far from a McCain Whitehouse.
Isn’t she coming out with an entire line of Designer Depends diapers for Seniors? The “Shake, Rattle, and Roll” line?
Hillary doesn’t get the nomination, I’m voting for McCain too, absentee, from Canada. No quicker way to get the US nuked and tsunami’ed off the face of the earth by the combined nuclear and top secret nonconventional arsenals of China and Russia and everyone else in the world save GB and Israel, once Insane McCaniac OR Rove’s Tool Obama trys to nuke Iran within a few weeks in office.
This is not a negative comment, but Ms. McCain, at 23, is painfully inexperienced, ignorant of issues large and small, immature, still a bit childish, and hardly an expert on matters of government, politics, civics, diplomacy and international and national affairs. She should not be conducting a “blog,” or diary, or whatever it is. She can help with her father’s campaign, yes, but her diary is painfully immature. Again, that’s not a negative comment, but simply the truth. Why everyone feels they have to post comments on the internet–immature, childish, woefully inaccurate or not–is a bizarre mystery of modern times. She could her father’s campaign in much better ways by working on administrative duties pertinent to an honorable presidential campaign.
There should be an addendum so the post doesn’t appear contradictory: Why everone feels they have to post comments on the internet in the form of daily personal observations on a political campaign or on mundane aspects of modern life is the mystery. We all post things on the internet every day these days. But personal blogs or diaries or just random observational rants on personal web pages–these tend to distract rather than add to intelligent discourse.
I think I get you point front page,it is a generational thing I think. While older people tend to set limits on “message”, our younger generation has a comfort level we don’t with blogs. The idea your child must become a policy wonk, or stay home is not the way young people are socialized(Or should) be. Every politician is not going to have a Chelsea or a Kerry child, who has political aspirations. It is easy for me to see how other experiences,and information on the campaign trail might be of interest to a large group of people….in fact, People magazine and a score of other magazines write about things even more mundane. Ms. McCain is taking lemons and making lemonade, a resourceful way to spend time with her Mom and Dad, and have a little fun too.
Let’s get serious. This isn’t the typical behavior of a 23-year old. I have three teenage daughters, the oldest at 19 years old. I can’t remember a time where blogging about cute shoes was an interest of their’s.
Don’t get me wrong, there has to be time for fun on the campaign trail. But to run a major story on the MSM about how adorable it is because she blogs about fashion talk? It is quite silly to waste our time notifying us about that.
I can only imaginewhat would be said if Chelsea did that! Instead we get stories of Chelsea being “pimped out” by her parents. We hear how she is asked about how her mother was affected in the race by her father’s infidelity.
So excuse me for not being impressed about the cute little shoe talk! I think it makes her sound ignorant! Surely McCain could have raised a more intelligent daughter?
