The talking heads are going on and on about how Gov. Eliot Spitzer will cope with the ramifications of being caught taking part in a prostitution ring and whether he’ll resign anytime soon. But few pundits are really trying to get inside the mind of his wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, because, perhaps, that’s just too dark of a place to go at this tawdry moment.

Why didn’t you have a post up like this for Mrs. Larry Craig? Or Mrs. David Vitter? Everything you say is correct for anyone in a committed relationship (gay or straight), rich and powerful, or poor and powerless. But I question why you didn’t make a similar post for Mrs. David Vitter, or Mrs. Larry Craig.
Are you saying that they somehow are not worthy of our sympathy? Are you saying they are not human enough to feel the same hurt and pain that Mrs. Spitzer feels right now?

This pain that she is feeling unfortunately, is not new. The behavior the gov ehxibited likewise, is not new. Both are humiliated because it has been publiclly exposed. She has known for a very long time that her husband is a cheat. Michelle Obama knows her husband is a cheat who lives on the down low but she acts publicly as if she doesn’t. Imagine what she will look like when Larry is vindicated and Donald Young’s life proves not to have been taken in vain? It won’t be a pretty sight either.
I would have to agree, in some cases, these wives do know. Silda Wall Spitzer took her prozac before she went into the new conference. What she should have took was some testosterone, and knock the hell out Elliot Spitzer on national TV. She would of felt better, women would have made her a hero, the headline would be: Spitzer got his ass kicked on Live TV, in tomorrow NYT!
Within a year Spitzer will have written a book about it, and will be on Oprah. In the meantime, Obama will start on the healing process ASAP.

What the American electred should do is demand the elected official resign immediately if involed with any kind of scandal like this. We allow it to happen, that’s why it continues. If we all stood up and demanded more we would get better elected officials.

How in the name of heaven do we get the word out to all the states yet to vote to not allow this with another official?
