Dems Snatch Hastert’s GOP Seat

CHICAGO (AP) — A longtime Republican district fell to the Democrats Saturday when a scientist snatched former House Speaker Dennis Hastert’s congressional seat in a closely watched special election.

Democrat Bill Foster won 52 percent of the vote compared to 48 percent for Republican Jim Oberweis. With 564 of 568 precincts reporting, Foster had 50,947 votes to Oberweis’ 46,125.

There is a another big story here. Obama’s coattails can deliver wins like across the country. Obama’s endorsement was a big cornerstone of Foster’s campaign and featured prominently in his ads. Traditional Republican strongholds would be in danger with Obama driving voters to the polls in November. Bear in mind that Clinton has a big state strategy, but Obama has a 50-state strategy, and that could well tip the balance dramatically in Congress.

Here’s a prediction. If Obama is the Democratic presidential nominee, Foster will win again in November. If Clinton is the nominee, Foster will lose.

Now that’s funny. The RNC already spent over a third of all their available cash trying to retain that one seat, and still lost. What make you think they will be able to spend any more when they will have dozens to defend in November? The Democratic tide is going to roll over them, no matter who wins the nomination.

By the way, has anyone ever asked Larry what he does for a living? What is his job? In fact, has he ever earned an honest paycheck in his life? Maybe he has, but he’s never admitted to it, only claiming that he made a ton of money dealing drugs and smuggling people in from Mexico.

Why do people want to believe a man who, by his own admission, could easily be serving most of the rest of his life behind bars?

For all Larry’s “openness” and “honest” we know very little about him, and what we do know is that he has a sordid and criminal past. What is Larry hiding? Eh?

Keep in mind that Bill Foster is running against Jim Oberwiess in November. That’s right, the guy he just beat. Oberwiess has tried to win many elections here in Illinois, and victory still eludes him. Foster also won in longtime Republican stronghold. Sorry, it will be a miracle if Foster loses in November.
