I have started a debunking wikipedia page, because if I didn’t, some GOP or Paultard would have noticed there wasn’t one, and beaten me to it (pre-emptive warfare?)

This ridiculous story is getting more and more traction by the minute. There is some astroturf group calling C-Span’s Washington Journal almost ever day, and more and more comments are appearing on the big media sites. His YouTube smear is approaching 400,000 views. TheSmokingGun.com now has his “lawsuit,” and the gossip site, bigHeadDC is pumping it up routinely.

On the 26th, this clown takes his lie detector test, according to his sponsor, Whitehouse.com (paid him $10,000 to take the test), and I am afraid the story breaks out when that happens, even though the results will probably be complete bogus.

It would help if there were more editor for the Wikipedia page, so feel free to add what you know.

Please pass on the Wiki page to all Obama supporters and blogs. Thanks

Funny, that’s what John Kerry’s campaign said about O’Neill and the swiftboaters. The problem with that reasoning is, by the time you are proved wrong, it’s far too late. In this day an age, people believe this first or second thing they read. If you’re lucky, then make one attempt to Google it for validation. I’ve tried to ensure that 5 debunking sites appear as close to the top as possible. It’s not easy.

There’s a story out in the Globe (yes the smut magazine) about this now and Larry does not give any evidence that backup the allegations he is spreading.

“Although Sinclair has provided no evidence to back up his outrageous Obama stories, the 46 year old man tells GLOBE that he’s spent time in prison in Florida, Arizona, and Colorado on credit card fraud and other charges. He also admits to trafficking cocaine and marijuana and “moving” people from Mexico to the United States. He says he’s been disabled since a “work-related accident” in 2001 and has now been diagnosed with a brain tumor and given “a little more than a year” to live.

This is all from the GLOBE dated March 3, 2008. It’s a shame that Barack and this campaign have to spend their time and resources dealing with this kind of smear attempt! Matt, will you please update the site with the above information.

But you said it’s dated March 8th? Did you mean Feb 8th? Do you have the original site?

At this point, I am sorry I started this. As it turns out, there was already a page under development by Ron Paul supporters, trying to give validity to the claims. Somehow, my stuff was merged with it. It’s now an edit war,and I am relying on Wikipedia veterans to either win it, ban the malicious editors, or get it deleted. If things settle down, I would be happy to add your info once I can verify to Wikipedia standards.

What a nightmare, that was. Best intentions, and all that. Some reputed Ron Paul supporters wanted to make the Wikipedia page into precisely the opposite of what I intended (a debunking site about the Sinclair allegation).

Every edit was turned into more of validation of his charges, than a warning that they were completely unsupported by reality.

With the help of some veteran Wikipedians with white hats, I got the page deleted completely.

Live and learn.

This supposed “polygraph test” was conducted yesterday by the right wing, news and gossip site, Whitehouse dot com. Since polygraph takers can test pass them if they actually believe what they claim, I won’t be surprised if we hear Sinclair “passed” his, and that tidbit makes its way to Fox Noise tonight.
