On 2/8/08 flying CO flight 659 F Washington Reagan to Houston-Bush Intl. Sat behind Sheila Jackson Lee in first class. As we left the plane in Houston, a heavily armed policeman wearing a bullet proof vest was standing in the jetway by the door. He escorted Ms. Lee up the jetway to an electric cart. Even though there was a shortage of carts, she rode in the cart with only the policeman sitting behind her. Why would Ms. Lee need an armed escort in an airport where everyone must go through to security to reach the gates. How much does this cost taxpayers?
