larry-sinclair-polygraph.jpg“Due to security concerns, we had to move the Larry Sinclair polygraph up a few days,” reports WhiteHouse.com. “We conducted it in secret today and the picture to the left is from from one of the two arduous polygraphs Sinclair underwent today.”

According to the Web site, “the process took four grueling hours, testing Sinclair’s claims of sex and drug use separately and also including a drug screening to ensure that Sinclair didn’t enlist any chemical assistance.”

Sinclair was paid $10,000 for his participation and has pledged to donate most of the funds to charity.

The site reports that the “results are being confirmed by a second expert” and that there will be “conclusive word” of the results on Monday or Tuesday. Video of the process will be hosted on the site.

Thought you might be interested in the new GLOBE story about good ole Larry that came out today dated March 3, 2008. Convicted Felon with no proof–good, grief!

“Although Sinclair has provided no evidence to back up his outrageous Obama stories, the 46 year old man tells GLOBE that he’s spent time in prison in Florida, Arizona and Colorado on credit card fraud and other charges. He also admits to trafficking cocaine and marijuana and “moving” people from Mexico to the United States. He says he’s been disabled since a work related accident in 2001 nad has now been diagnosed with a brain tumor and given a little more than a year to live.”

    GLOBE dated 3-3-2008.

Google Larry Sinclair was a mental patient in 1999. It was verified that he was an admitted mental patient during the alleged meeting with Obama. He couldn’t have been in Chicago. Also, he said he was in Chicago for a relatives graduation, only it has been verified the graduation was in October and not November. Furthermore, mental patients can easliy beat a polygraph. They have no sense of reality.

Whitehouse.com is the property of Dan Parisi who made his millions in the online pornography business. He’s probably just trying to generate web traffic and ad revenue. Paying Sinclair was a brilliant business move.

I find it telling with all attention to Obama - and all the folks that seem so determined to take him down - that a crack user is the best they can come up with. That speaks much more credibily to Obama’s strength of character than a 3 minute YouTube video from someone nobody every heard of before.

Funny how you want proof about one thing but not another.

A polygraph only indicates if the person believes they are telling the truth.

IF Larry passes the test then it could be because it is true. It could also be because he had sex and did drugs with a tall black man he believed to be Obama. I doubt he asked for ID - and, if he had already was high, I doubt he would qualify as a credible witness. It could also mean he’s mentally ill. If the story about him having brain cancer is true then I would think anything the poor many says is highly suspect.

Lastly, keep in mind that while Whitehouse.gov may not be affiliated with any candidate, they are motivated by generating advertising revenue and will see considerable profits if they can report a positive polygraph.

My last post on this site.

From the Wikipedia’s entry on the Polygraph:

    Reliability
There is little scientific evidence to support the reliability of polygraphs. Despite claims of 90% - 95% reliability, critics charge that rather than a “test”, the method amounts to an inherently unstandardizable interrogation technique whose accuracy cannot be established. A 1997 survey of 421 psychologists estimated the test’s average accuracy at about 61%, a little better than chance.[15] Critics also argue that even given high estimates of the polygraph’s accuracy a significant number of subjects (e.g. 10% given a 90% accuracy) will appear to be lying, and would unfairly suffer the consequences of “failing” the polygraph. In the 1998 Supreme Court case, United States v. Scheffer, the majority stated that “There is simply no consensus that polygraph evidence is reliable” and “Unlike other expert witnesses who testify about factual matters outside the jurors’ knowledge, such as the analysis of fingerprints, ballistics, or DNA found at a crime scene, a polygraph expert can supply the jury only with another opinion…”.[16] Also, in 2005 the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals stated that “polygraphy did not enjoy general acceptance from the scientific community”.[17] In 2001 William G. Iacono, Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience and Director, Clinical Science and Psychopathology Research Training Program at the University of Minnesota, published a paper titled “Forensic “Lie Detection”: Procedures Without Scientific Basis” in the peer reviewed Journal of Forensic Psychology Practice. He concluded that “Although the CQT[clarify] may be useful as an investigative aid and tool to induce confessions, it does not pass muster as a scientifically credible test. CQT theory is based on naive, implausible assumptions indicating (a) that it is biased against innocent individuals and (b) that it can be beaten simply by artificially augmenting responses to control questions. Although it is not possible to adequately assess the error rate of the CQT, both of these conclusions are supported by published research findings in the best social science journals (Honts et al., 1994; Horvath, 1977; Kleinmuntz & Szucko, 1984; Patrick & Iacono, 1991). Although defense attorneys often attempt to have the results of friendly CQTs admitted as evidence in court, there is no evidence supporting their validity and ample reason to doubt it. Members of scientific organizations who have the requisite background to evaluate the CQT are overwhelmingly skeptical of the claims made by polygraph proponents.”[18] Polygraph tests have also been criticized for failing to trap known spies such as double-agent Aldrich Ames, who passed two polygraph tests while spying for the Soviet Union.[19] Other spies who passed the polygraph include Karl Koecher,[20] Ana Belen Montes,[21] and Leandro Aragoncillo.[22] Noted pseudoscience debunker Bob Park recently commented, “The polygraph, in fact, has ruined careers, but never uncovered a single spy.”[23]
