Shuster Off-Air At MSNBC; Still Could Face Firing

“On Thursday’s Tucker on MSNBC, David Shuster, who was serving as guest-host of the program, made a comment about Chelsea Clinton and the Clinton campaign that was irresponsible and inappropriate,” NBC News President Steve Capus writes in a statement. “Shuster, who apologized this morning on MSNBC and will again this evening, has been suspended from appearing on all NBC News broadcasts, other than to make his apology. He has also extended an apology to the Clinton family. NBC News takes these matters seriously, and offers our sincere regrets to the Clintons for the remarks.”

An MSNBC insider tells Big Head DC that Shuster did not want to offer the apology in the first place — and only agreed to do so once it was clear that MSNBC would consider firing him if he did not.

I can guarantee that if the term “pimped out” had been used in reference to anyone in Obama’s family, a firing would have already taken place. Apology would not be sufficient. MSNBC, BTW, published a bogus delegate count on Wednesday, showing Obama with a lead: apparently based on Obama’s camp *claiming* that they had pulled ahead.

It is obvious that msnbc are pro obama.I think one of the journalist brothers is campaigning for obama and Mccain.Hillary Clinton has been bashed and attacked so much.If that was said about obama’s family they would have been fired.Whether you like the Clintons or not this totally uncalled for.Lots of people have told me that if obama gets the nomination they will not vote for him and maybe not Mccain.Maybe we all should just check other.I hope there will not be a debate on msnbc.

I didn’t hear Steve Capus asking if any of us thought Shuster should be fired. He ask some employees of nbc when Imus made his comment. This is very offensive. To me, msnbc is no better than Imus. What ever happened to journalist like Katie Couric, Ann Curry? Shuster would have been fired if this was said about obama and his family.Hillary Rodham Clinton has been attacked time after time and barack hussein obama has been given a free pass.Some talk about how great obama speeches are.Is this campaign about a movement,a march or what? Is this a sign of things to come?

I get a kick out of MSDNC having to put Shuster on when Tucker’s out. What does that say about them; that they can’t come up with more than one right-leaning guy on the whole station. They’re a joke.
