That’s a direct quote from MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews from tonight’s 5 p.m. Hardball program in regards to the National Organization for Women. In this case he was labeling women as “these people.” It was a surprising statement for Matthews to make, considering that he was forced to apologize on-air just days ago for admittedly sexist comments he’s made about Sen. Hillary Clinton throughout her campaign for president. Even more interestingly, Matthews made the comment to his guest, recently retired Sen. Trent Lott, who, himself, has had a habit of knocking political minorities.
