Did the author of this posting even read the Pink Flamingo content Big Head links to?? The article doesn’t claim he brought ‘17′ year olds from Illinois - those are ‘Iowa’ high school students who will be 18 by the general election date.

What Obama ‘did’ do, and was very open about, was appealing to all Iowa college students, even those from out-of-state (yes, including Illinois), because it’s ‘legal’ for them to vote in the caucus, as the Pink Flamingo content confirms (content from the Des Moines Register).

This is simply sour grapes on the part of folks who wish their candidate resonated across categories/demographics the way Sen. Obama’s message does.

And props to Obama for actually reaching out to them as opposed to the typical practice of ignoring any voter under 35. Maybe this will be a wake-up call for other Presidential candidates to pay some attention to younger voters for a change, instead of acting like an election was stolen or something because young people actually voted, ‘legally’.

Two separate issues — the ‘17 year olds’ the links refer to were ‘Iowan’ high school students (not Illinois) — perfectly legal since they’ll be 18 by general election day.

For those too old to remember, out of state Iowa college students tend to be ‘18-22′ or older. Again, “legal but controversial” per the Des Moines Register.
