The Dallas Voice’s David Webb has published an interesting article involving our Trent Lott / Benjamin Nicholas story. Pay attention, folks:
Finally, in my feverish pursuit of the story, I called Bruce David, the editorial director of Hustler, to see if [Larry] Flynt had the goods on Lott, and whether we could expect an expose on Lott any time soon.
David confirmed that Hustler had received information about Lott from sources other than Nicholas, but he declined to reveal any of it.
“If I tell you anything about it, I run the risk I’m going to have to pay one of our sources for information we might not even publish,” David said.
David said there might not be any point in publishing a story about Lott because he has resigned.
“Our whole reason for doing this is to get them out of power,” David said. “Here, Trent Lott has essentially removed himself from the equation. We’re going to have to decide … do we want to spend more money on the investigation for something that is, from our point of view, a dead issue. He’s leaving office.”
David said that Hustler has “lots of information on lots of different people,” but it only publishes that material when a person is a hypocrite — a person who says one thing in public and does another in private.
Under that rule, I would say our anti-gay foe Lott certainly fits the criteria for outing if Hustler has the type of information I think it does.
So if you’re reading, Larry, I say go ahead and write that check. If you’ve got the scoop, Benjamin [Nicholas], give Larry a call. You’re not getting any younger, and the last time I checked, there weren’t any pension plans available for party boys.

The info they got may have related to Sen. Lott, but it has nothing to do with a Nicholas/Lott connection. David Webb already made it clear that this was, and remains, a DEAD issue.
In the meantime, let us all know with another of your ’scoops’ if store bought super-glue is strong enough to connect back the pieces of your broken journalistic career.
Jonathan, it seems that no amount of information/sources will please you. But stay tuned. We’ll see what we can do.

By now, if there was smoking gun evidence of this relationship, it would have been posted online. Images of the two together, emails between them, the ‘alleged’ evidence of this vacation together. The ’sources’ you’ve provided so far are weak and not really giving any absolute answers. Just more white noise.
What’s been presented thus far is SPECULATION. You’ve got a absolute denial on the part of Nicholas, cold water thrown on the story from every CREDIBLE blog & news source out there and the longer you let this story go without real proof, the more you end up hurting yourself as a journalist.
Is this ’scoop’ really worth your reputation?
I think Rob knows what he’s doing. And to certain nay-sayers, as teenage girls say if you point out that Clay Aiken is a homo, “You’re just jealous!”

What’s that supposed to mean?
If anyone actually read this site, Rob might be in serious danger of being sued by Senator Lott. Why, he could win all the assets of the BHDC empire in court. Of course, that would only get him enough for a tall coffee at Starbucks, but it’s the principle that’s important.
I’d like to see that. With the male hooker on the witness stand, and Matthew Yglesias and Jason Linkins fighting over his ween. And Senator Lott beating them both to the nuts.

Big Head’s Alexa stats are on the downslide now anyway: People have now figured out that Rob and Co are full of unsubstantiated muck on this Trent Lott scandal. Let’s see how long he can keep re-hashing the same lame story while continuing to not provide any damning evidence.
He reminds me of when I’d play CLUE with my sister as a teenager. She’d just keep making accusations about Mr. Body until something stuck. Sad part is, Rob already had his shot and he blew it.
Rob, the most important element (to me) of the Dallas Voice article is the Hustler editorial director’s statement that the Lott story might not see the light of day in that publication, on account of Lott having announced his resignation.
If that’s the way they play it, I’m not going to be surprised. Therefore, I think this is one more argument for you to release whatever information you have accumulated about Nicholas and Treat Lott: in particular, authenticated (HTML verisons) of all e-mails between them and between you and Nicholas, and evidence of meetings between Lott and Nicholas.
Be prepared for a significant number of Log Cabinettes like Jonatahan to deny the story no matter what evidence you produce.
Well, I quite frankly, am getting tired of reading all the uninformed remarks of commenters like Masked Blogger and Jonathan, who OBVIOUSLY know less than nothing about this subject. If Rob says it’s all true, then it must be true. When has Rob let us down before? I think you all need to give up your baseless smear campaign against BHDC and focus your negative energies on the REAL bad guys, not on those like Rob who dare speak the unpopular truth.
