“A federal grand jury has indicted prominent attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs on criminal charges that he and other lawyers engaged in a scheme to bribe a judge,” the AP reports. Scruggs is the brother-in-law of Sen. Trent Lott, who abruptly announced his resignation from office on Monday with little explanation. A gay escort later alleged on Big Head DC a possible relationship with the soon-to-be ex-senator.

Get over it Rob! You’ve got NOTHING. The more you run a Nicholas/Lott connection, the harder you’re going to fall when you’re unable to come up with substantial proof.

I’ve urged the guy who operates Big Head DC to provide his primary source material, including:
1. HTML copies of the e-mails between him and the escort, with full headers, with that odd phraseology.
2. Evidence of the e-mails and meetings between the escort and Lott.
My instincts tell me that Big Head DC is correct about all of this, but the longer he waits to release the evidence the weaker my instincts will get.
Listen, even if the HTML emails went live, it still doesn’t prove ANYTHING. If BigHeadDC is capable of breaking an extremely soft story like this, then they’re also capable of manufacturing this whole Lott/Nicholas scheme to boost readership and try to get Flynt to fork over the bounty.
No smoking gun here. I want emails between the Sen. and Nicholas, pictures of the two together, proof of this supposed ‘vacation’ they took and more. If Rob wants to take down a hypocrite Senator, great, but he’s going to need some PROOF and so far, he’s given almost none.
As of right now: Dead issue.

Debating the journalistic ethics of BHDC is like debating the benefits of AIDS. There are none.
Fortunately, more and more media outlets are realizing this. Radar fired Rob as a contributor a couple of weeks ago, and Andrew Sullivan removed a link here after realizing Rob’s full of shit.
But hey, Rob, go ahead and post another Alexa chart showing you’re beating DCist. At least you have that.
Well, you would know, wouldn’t you Matthew Yglesias — I heard you sucked Andrew Sullivan to get him to remove the link. You do work with him. Is it true? Also, I heard you can’t be “fired” as a freelancer. Also, I heard that Radar is mad that Big Head DC beat them to the scoop that Sam Donaldson calls escorts.
Why does Matthew Yglesias keep trolling Big Head DC and leaving comments as “Masked Blogger”??? Those of us in Rob’s “inner loop” have seen the IP addresses and know, for a fact, that Fatty Yglesias IS Masked Blogger. Why does Matthew care so much? Does he have THAT much free time on his hands? Get a life and stop the slander, Matthew!
Oh, and those of us in Rob’s “inner loop” have also seen the complete dossier of evidence against Trent Lott. It’s all very, very damning stuff.

Nope. I did hear, though, that Rob sucked Andrew to get the link there in the first place, but didn’t swallow, which is why it came down after a few hours.
