BHDC Commenters Want to Save Tucker Carlson

Over the Thanksgiving weekend we got several comments and e-mails pointing us to a new Web site called Save Tucker in response to our postings regarding the possibility that the MSNBC’s sole conservative show may soon be canceled. The site, created by Tucker fans John Bertran and Alain Jean is promoted as such:

Liberals want to save the whales. Environmentalists want to save the Everglades. Conservatives want to save the Confederate flag but we just want to SAVE TUCKER.

MSNBC executives are considering cancelling ‘Tucker’ with Tucker Carlson which airs on MSNBC at 6:00pm EST weekdays.

This decision by MSNBC will silence a conservative voice, part of a move by MSNBC to swing left and become “FOX for the Liberals,” dropping any pretense of objectivity or balance. Tucker Carlson is a conservative who brings a tone of civility and his unfailing good-humor to political talk television. Quirky and unpredictable, we love Tucker.

Any guy willing to go on Dancing with the Stars and treat guests both left and right with spirited but congenial debate should not be purged in some ideological marketing plan. We respectfully urge NBC to reconsider this decision and save TUCKER!

They also link to NBC executive contact info, so if this cause is up your alley, get working. We hear Carlson needs all the help he can get.

Sorry, people. No Way will I help “Save Tucker”. I will continue to do my best to get him canned. He is the most obnoxious show host on television besides the Faux Noise boys, O’Reilly, Hannity, Gibson, et al. For every one of you writing mgmt. to “Save Tucker”, this is to let you know I’ve been contacting them weekly for several months to please take him off permanently, or I will continue to switch channels as soon as his contemptuous face appears.

You have got to be kidding. Tucker Carlson is not only a conservative shill, but an ineffectual one at that (perhaps its the oddly emasculating bow-tie he tends to wear; maybe it’s that he’s doesn’t seem particularly knowledgeable. Smarmy perhaps, but not knowledgeable) . Not only am I glad to see him leaving MSNBC, I regret that we will probably hear his vapid form of commentary elsewhere.

And while he is generally civil, that’s not the same thing as being honest, intellectually or otherwise. He reminds me somewhat of Bil O’ Reilly and Ann Coulter, only not as immediately offensive (like a slowly rotting carcass, it sometimes take a while to figure out what’s causing the stink).
