In an unfortunate series of new Internet ads, the John McCain camp seems to be mystically predicting that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States. Fortune tellers claim to be able to see the future, so the ads, which prominently display Hillary’s mug within smoky glass seem to subconsciously be telling us that Hillary is the future. The McCain campaign’s effort to negate the seeming inevitability with the words, “Make sure it doesn’t happen,” seems futile at best.
