According to official BlogAds advertising data released today, Big Head DC is now beating the $23 million Mediabistro FishbowlDC blog . Thank you, everyone!

Wow. Talk about shameless self-promotion. Weren’t you the one that once admonished a certain D.C. blogger for talking about their traffic? Consistency isn’t your strong suit, is it?
To Ugh: Yeah, I think it’s quite silly when a local blogger who prides himself on “pumping and dumping” women heralds his TINY rankings. But when Big Head DC beats a $23 million blog that most elite media insiders in this city read, I think that’s a pretty big accomplishment. And some people said we couldn’t do it!
What I want to know: Does this mean we all get raises?
It’s still shameless self-promotion. And don’t think you’re much better than said blogger that “pumps and dumps” — all told, you spend a surprising amount of time throwing petty insults at other bloggers, so you’re not much better.
If your traffic is so good, why don’t you have Sitemter stats publicly available for everyone to marvel at?
I bet Latrick Lavin has eaten 200 donuts today out of shame and disgust. Send him the suicide hot line number FAST!
We just revealed our ad spec numbers — most media outlets don’t do that much! And now you want more. Who are you, Britney Spears? Why on Earth can’t we be happy to promote ourselves? Mediabistro’s Laurel Toby certainly did many interviews after she sold FishbowlDC for $23 million. And Wonkette owner Nick Denton isn’t exactly press shy. If you’re mad at us for calling out other bloggers, then just admit it. If we’ve called you out, then you more than likely deserved it.
Also, how would explain that Fishbowl has 22 ads running to your 6? Could it simply be that your traffic is inflated by repeat visits by the same people? The times you posted Alexa stats, they ranked page views, not unique IPs. So, your traffic is not necessarily any higher (or even close) to Fishbowl. Post Sitemeter stats!!!

How do I explain that FishbowlDC has 22 ads to our current 6 (through BlogAds)? Ha. Because they have an advertising staff of DOZENS who make hundreds of calls each day to prospective advertisers. We haven’t been able to build up our ad staff to that point yet, Ugh, but even with a few more ad reps, I expect that we could double what FishbowlDC is currently doing. Our rankings prove that we can obviously make bigger things happen with fewer people, which is sort of how I like to see Internet publications operate.
Regarding Alexa data, you are being so old-fashioned. We posted today our ad specs generated though one of the largest Internet advertising firms. You can talk about our start-up days all you want, but, like Cella and DCeiverr, many people seem to enjoy visiting here each and every day.
Also, since you seem to be such a strong supporter of FishbowlDC, why don’t they have comments on their blog yet? And what exactly does “Inky” contribute to the operation?

You’re still ignoring the simple question of traffic — why not post Sitemeter stats? Again, if your traffic in terms of unique IPs is that good, you should have no problem posting this, right?

I agree with Billie and DCeiver, this site ROCKS. I don’t know why there is always one or two haters like ugh who try to steal someone’s glory and spoil the party. If you don’t like BHDC, stop visiting. We love it here and we’re happy for BHDC’s success!

Hi guys, I’m a long-time reader and first-time commenter. I’ve loved this site since the first day I found. In my eyes, there is no better and more compelling read than BHDC. Rob and his staff work hard to bring us fresh, witty bits of news that are both entertaining and informative. Most of all, Rob has built a real community here.
Not much else to add, just wanted to say how much I’ve grown to love BHDC.
I’d have to agree with the Rorschach Theater. This is a real a Class A, first-rate blog. Keep up the great stuff, Big Head.
My 2 cents: the traditional media establishment types fear Big Head DC because they see how quickly it has challenged Wonkette and FishbowlDC. No one wanted another blog power axis to deal with, but now, it seems, they have to. All the press releases that come my way filter to this site, I’ve noticed. A site, I might add, that has broken more scoops this year than Fishbowl and Wonkette combined. My bet is the advertisers will notice.
And Rob raises a good point: Why is there no commenting ability on Fishbowl? A better point: Does Wonkette even have any ads?
