Larry Flynt, editor and publisher of Hustler magazine, just told FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto that he’s “hoping to expose a bombshell” that will stand “Washington and the country on its head.” Within the next week or two, he says his magazine will expose a sex scandal of huge proportions involving a prominent United States Senator. Flynt refused to comment on the Senator’s political affiliation, but alluded that he or she is a Republican.

Eh. Larry’s “bombshells” usually turn out to be duds, or don’t turn out at all.
I guess we’ll wait and see, but I don’t expect much. Larry probably does have something but he probably extorts the senator with some pretty steep demands, which is probably why we never actually see anything transpire.
So when is Larry Flynt going to be taken out and renditioned? I would be scared if I was him. He might end up somewhere overseas in a gulag… oh wait. We have one off our coast in Cuba.

I don’t understand this comment at all. Sen. Vitter was taken down by Flynt just this year. And Bob Livingston, R-La., admitted he had had extramarital affairs after word got out that Flynt was investigating him. Livingston announced his resignation in December 1998, days before he had been expected to become speaker of the House. Pretty good track record, if you ask me.

Just a correction to the misinformed and inaccurate poster who said that Flynt’s revelations are “duds:” They are literally not duds. Two politicians have been exposed, accurately and correctly, for their bizarre hypocrisy. That’s two hits, two victories, zero “duds.” If you know and understand Larry Flynt, you will know and understand and realize that he is a very intelligent, grounded, smart, involved and, yes, caring person. He is also a very powerful, respected and extremely successful businessman. All he’s doing is what journalism is meant to do: expose the truth. Larry Flynt, just like Hugh Hefner, Bob Guccione and Al Goldstein, is a giant in publishing, cultural and societal influence, business and politics. Really.

We already know that about Vitter. Despite the fact that his wife said she’d cut his d*ck off if she ever heard about such a thing, and despite him coming from a heavily Christian fundamentalist background and having fundie constituents, it made no difference at all. It simply exposed THEIR hypocrisy.
It takes a scandal composed of lots of supposed straights being homos instead to bring up the ire of the Right. So, you best have plenty of photos, videos and audio of it.

BigDaddy, read! Yes, Flynt has said many times over that he would out a Dem…it’s about hypocrisy, fool, and the GOP is serving it up in spades.
I worked with Flynt back in the 80s when he was embroiled in, among others,The John Delorean case. Here is a short story from some of the many I witnessed during my time with him.
Larry Flynt, the owner of Hustler magazine, once gave Anna and me a check for ten thousand dollars to write a treatment for a proposed movie about the life and times of Jim Morrison.
At that time, Flynt’s magazine was in the middle of the sensational murder trial of Vicki Morgan, a high-class Hollywood call girl who was murdered by her live-in boyfriend, Marvin Panacost. She had a little black book that contained many prominent public officials’ names. To make matters more bizarre, Flynt was running for President of the United States on the Republican ticket. And to put the tin hat on the whole thing, he was offering a million-dollar reward for anyone who could produce evidence of the real assassin of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas in 1963.
Larry Flynt would hold court every evening in his Bel Air mansion. Every con man, liar, thief, hustler, whore, wannabe, pimp, actor, ex-actor, down-and-out actor – in short, a veritable rogue’s gallery of would-be recipients of the “$1,000,000 Check” — would present themselves before the “Emperor” to tell their stories.
Two of the most prominent wannabe millionaires were none other than Terry Southern (the writer of “The Magic Christian”) and Dennis Hopper of “Easy Rider” fame. Both now down on their luck struggling to finance low-budget movies and both sporting serious cocaine habits, had now teamed up as “writer/director ensemble” and were desperately hopeful that Flynt would select them to write the final script for the Jim Morrison movie. This would-be Hollywood “Rosencraus and Guildenstern” sat plotting and planning whilst people like Frank Zappa, G. Gordon Liddy, Dick Gregory, Madeline Murray O’Hare, and countless others stood in the wings waiting for their chance to grab the golden ring. ….

If this involves a sitting US Senator who is also a presidential candidate, then that only leaves John McCain if it turns out to be a Republican. The other sitting senators running for president are Clinton, Obama, Dodd, and Biden - but they’re all Democrats, and I seriously doubt Larry Flynt will out a Democrat. On the other hand, Flynt may be an Obama supporter and he’s going to drop the lesbian bomb on Hillary Clinton.

I think Larry Flynt doesn’t give a squat about politics and this is all publicity for him. It could be ANY of them I suppose. But he has indicated “sitting senator.” You can’t make me believe it’s John McCain. Honestly he’s just not enough of a “big fish.” He’s low in the polls and it would be headlines for a week and then he’d be gone. That would only be worth $1 million to McCain.
