The Politico sauce is flowing our way again, kids! Some media insiders, both inside and outside the newsroom, think that reporter Aoife McCarthy did a much better job of working the gossip beat when she filled in for a few weeks in Sept. while Anne “Mellons” Schroeder was busy tying the knot.
“It’s not fair that Anne gets to keep the choice spot when most of her scoops come from other reporters,” one source, who asked not to be identified, tells Big Head DC. “Aoife deserves a byline at least on some stuff.”
But McCarthy, who briefly worked for FishbowlDC last year, is unlikely to get a permanent slot, we hear, since one of the top editors at the publication worked with Schroeder at the Washington Post. And Schroeder was recently named “employee of the month” — but few reporters seem to know why.

Well, given Ms. “Mellon’s” size, I’d say there are pretty big knickers to fill. Fortunately, it looks like Aoife is big enough for the job!

That’s fine, but you know guys feel like they’re kissing an ashtray when you smoke…even when you drink. Just be careful who you light up with.
I only lite up with Anne “Mellons” Schroeder. She’s my smoking buddy. She actually got me hooked on smoking. I met her at a Weight Watchers meeting last year, and she told me that if smoked three packs a day, I could eat whatever I wanted and still lose weight. Well, I guess I should have known that she was full of poop based on her Body Mass Index!
