HOT HEADLINERS

rachel-sklar2.jpgThe Huffington Post’s Rachel Sklar somehow managed to embarrass herself twice within one “Eat the Press” item yesterday.

In an attempt to explain the upcoming Fox Business Network advertising on MSNBC, she mistakenly assumed that FBN was paying NBC for ad space. Clearly, not the case. What she missed is that this is something very common called local avail — meaning time is bought on local cable systems. Therefore, FOX, in this case, paid Time Warner — not NBC.

After apparently hearing from FOX regarding her mistake, Sklar posted a clarification, yet continued to refer to the soon-to-launch network as Fox Business Channel (FBC); however, anyone writing about the media should know it’s called the Fox Business Network (FBN).

Get it together, girl! After all, one of your Big Head DC comrades used to live very near Canada. And we know you don’t want to give Canadians a bad name, especially in the American press.
