Al Hopkins, running for attorney general in Mississippi, knows how to handle a campaign. He served on committees to elect George W. Bush and Dubya’s dad, too. Al also campaigned for Trent Lott, so he’ll have someone to call when he has to resign for stealing logos from the Dallas Cowboys and the men’s lacrosse team at Johns Hopkins.

Rob, this is a fucking disgrace. Your nemesis Alex Parene is leaving Wonkette and DC, and there’s nothing? No boasting about how much more traffic you get than Wonkette? No snide insinuations about his sexuality? No taking credit for running him out of town?

I’m disappointed. Don’t even bother posting about this tomorrow. It’ll be old news.

I have it on good authority that he’s not. In fact, I’m told the reason there haven’t been any posts today is because Rob was camped out in front of Nick Denton’s home in hopes of landing the Wonkette gig, but was turned away unseen.

See, Rob, this is why you shouldn’t have fired all the Washington All-Stars. They could have picked up the posting slack while you were off on your “interview.”

I can’t reveal my sources. Let’s just say I heard the news in the “Nick” of time. So unfortunately, as before, Rob’s only role with Wonkette is that of faithful reader.

Masked Blogger, I can’t have a serious convo about this situation with a masked sock puppet. E-mail me with your concerns.

  1. […] Al Hopkins, not content with stealing the Dallas Cowboys logo, is trying to pull another fast one by stealing the identity of a real cowboy. Luckily Jim Hood, the incumbent in Ole Miss’s messy attorney general race, tells us that Al is “All hat [and] no cowboy.” Incriminating video after the jump.   […]

  1. […] Pretend-cowboy Al Hopkins, who was illegally using the Dallas Cowboys logo in his campaign for Mississippi attorney general up until, um, today, has removed the controversial logo from his site. His opponent, we hear, has been sticking it to him ever since we first noted the strange similarity earlier this week.  […]

  1. […] Hood Complains About Hopkins’ Logo Posted on October 15, 2007 by Brett Kittredge A couple liberal blogs (here and here) made note recently of Al Hopkins’ logo resembling the Dallas Cowboys star that he eventually dropped by from his website. Of course, his campaign signs all over the state still prominently display the star and there is no intention to try to remove them. […]
