pat-and-anne.pngMore Mediabistro blog-related corruption stories are flowing in to the Big Head DC headquarters, since we noted today that FishbowlDC stole our scoop regarding Tony Blankley’s departure from the Washington Times.

“I hyped the hell out of CableNewser, later TVNewser, when Brian Stelter launched it in early 2004,” Dave Hughes, the editor of DCRTV news blog, tells Big Head DC. “Then when Mediabistro took over, they immediately dropped the DCRTV link on their front page.”

Stelter has gone on to earn a high figure salary as a TV and news writer for The New York Times.

Hughes has since stopped linking altogether to what he calls “FishbowelDC” since they “bitched about giving me credit on the WaPo Radio demise scoop.” You’ll recall that FishbowlDC editor Patrick Gavin falsely claimed in late-August that his blog had that scoop first, when, in fact, DCRTV had beaten Gavin to the punch by almost two weeks.

Mediabistro, it should be noted, can attract a larger audience and thus charge more for advertising by stealing smaller blogs’ stories, sans offering credit. The company was purchased earlier this year for $23 million.
