“I want the truth to be known,” Wendy Cortez (aka Wendy Ellis) said at a press conference today held in Larry Flynt’s office in Beverly Hills. “Because I have been called a liar.”

Cortez says it’s Sen. David Vitter who’s calling her a liar, since, after it was revealed two months ago that he had used the “DC Madam’s” escort service, he said that he had never cheated on his wife in any other circumstances. In fact, he said that he had never cheated at all in a 2004 radio interview.

The reformed prostitute is adamant that he had a “purely sexual” relationship with her from July through November of 1999 — a time when he was very married to his wife, who is coincidentally named Wendy.

Cortez said today that she and Vitter met approximately three times a week. “He was a very clean man,” she said. “I have to give him that.”

The relationship ended abruptly, she said, when Vitter discovered her real name was Wendy. “He said, oh my God!” Cortez recalled, and looked at her with “disbelief.”

According to a polygraph administered under Flynt’s supervision, Cortez is telling the truth. Lie detector tests are known to be 95 percent accurate.
