brain.bmpNew research suggests that liberal brains and conservative brains are hard-wired quite differently.

Conservatives tend to crave order and structure in their lives, and are more consistent in the way they make decisions, according to a study published in the British journal Nature Neuroscience. Liberals, by contrast, show a higher tolerance for ambiguity and complexity, and adapt more easily to unexpected circumstances.

So, areĀ all conservatives rigid and stubborn? Are all liberals wishy-washy and don’t stick to their guns?

Depends on your perspective. But, remember, the brain is malleable and neural functions can change as a result of new experiences.
